Position: Director Advanced Analytics
Job Location: 850 Cherry Avenue, San Bruno, CA 94066
Duties: Lead the continued transition of Walmart’s analytics and insights from ecommerce focused to omni-channel oriented. Harbor a culture of experimentation centered around measuring and understanding the impact of media across all customer fulfillment channels (e.g., Walmart.com, Grocery Pickup and Delivery, Stores) and product categories. Partner in the continued transformation of Walmart’s digital customer experience by aligning measurement and tracking analytics across digital fulfillment channels (e.g., Walmart.com, Grocery Pickup and Delivery). Identify and provide both tactical ad hoc insights and a strategic ongoing roadmap of deep analytics for marketing stakeholders. Integrate disparate data sources and leverage state-of-the-art analytics best practices to deliver integrated actionable insights to the Retail Marketing Teams and the Pickup and Delivery Teams around digital marketing optimization. Drive Category Marketing Analytics through advanced analytics techniques such as demand curve analysis and finding adjacent category cross-sell opportunities with the goal of helping the organization understand the best way to drive sales. Drive media investment scenarios through advanced analytics techniques such as multi-touch attribution, marginal ROAS, and experimentation, with the goal of helping the Retail Marketing and OPD Teams understand the best way to drive incremental sales. Build and manage customer cohort models for forecast and scenario planning for product categories and fulfillment channels. Participate in customer segmentation analysis, including acquisition and retention, CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost), and LTV (Lifetime Value) measurement. Build tools and lead trainings that enable Marketers to adopt an analytical mindset for their business decisions. Partner with the Data Engineering and Measurement Teams to define data architecture and in-house tool requirements and ensure complete tagging and tracking of assets and campaigns. Partner with Data Science/Machine Learning Team to develop and apply AI techniques to optimize business performance. Supervise five (5) employees (Senior Manager II, Advanced Analytics (2); Manager II, Advanced Analytics; Senior Manager I, Advanced Analytics; and Senior Manager II, Data Science).
Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or the equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Engineering (any), or related field and 2 years of experience in data analytics or related field; OR Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Engineering (any), or related field and 5 years of experience in data analytics or related field.
Skills required: Experience programming in SQL. Experience programming in Python. Experience using data visualization tools: Tableau and Looker. Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint. Experience leading cross-functional projects and teams. Demonstrated knowledge of database capabilities. Experience structuring and analyzing large amounts of data from diverse sources. Experience leveraging big data technologies: Hive and Hadoop. Experience explaining technical material to a range of audiences. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: The annual salary range for this full-time position is $179,878/year to $252,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
