Responsibilities

Responsible for driving result to support clinical practice in to one or more functional units providing managerial and technical expertise, ensuring optimal operational and systems performance, systems design for future needs, etc., while ensuring alignment with Clinical Systems and enterprise-wide strategic goals. Participates in development and alignment of clinical systems strategy, roadmaps, and tools to key strategic practice goals. Collaborates with a diverse group of practices (e.g. Lab, Radiology, Cardiology, Ambulatory, Inpatient, etc.) and team members from many disciplines (i.e., IT, Informatics, Education and other teams supporting clinical systems). This role must focus on representing practice needs within all clinical systems units and governing bodies.

Provides primary leadership to matrixed clinical systems teams which may include any combination of the following responsibilities: analysis of software programs or modules across multiple clinical and/or business functions; analysis of installed systems; system implementation and integration projects; development of enterprise-wide clinical systems strategy; development of reports to support practice performance; analysis of how clinical systems influence practice performance; scaling innovative efforts for broad practice implementation. Functions as a liaison between clinical, business, and technical areas during the development process and provides oversight throughout the project cycle, through implementation and operationalization. Fosters and creates partnerships with the clinical and business areas to develop a solid knowledge base of multiple business work areas. Maintains in-depth knowledge of existing systems, tools and approaches available. Able to lead mid- to large-sized operational projects independently, and delegates responsibilities and directs team in these activities. Coordinates implementation efforts and aids in implementing proposals across multiple organizational boundaries.

This position is 100% remote work; can work from anywhere in the U.S.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in management, operations research, analytics, industrial or systems engineering, business administration, healthcare administration, or health related field and 12 years’ experience, two of which include demonstrated leadership in a clinical systems environment. A comprehensive understanding of the clinical practice and patient flow throughout a large healthcare institution is required. Experience in multiple areas within a large healthcare institution and/or clinical systems operation is required. Experience with word-processing tools, data analysis tools, spreadsheet, and presentation packages are required. Master’s degree in management, operations research, analytics, industrial or systems engineering, business administration, healthcare administration, or health related field fields and 9 years’ experience, two of which include demonstrated leadership in a clinical systems organization with an extensive working knowledge of clinic operations or information technology systems strongly preferred. Epic certification may be required in accordance with scope and needs of the position.
