Director, Communications, Consumer Products and Experiences

Overview & Responsibilities:

The Director of Communications builds, manages, and activates internal and external global communications strategies for Paramount Consumer Products and Experiences. The Director reports to SVP, Communications, Paramount Consumer Products & Experiences.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage press related to Consumer Products media events and trade shows, including Toy Fairs, Licensing Expo, Brand Licensing Europe and seasonal product opportunities such as Back To School and holiday.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive external communications campaigns, including trade and consumer press across print, digital, TV and podcasts, for the Consumer Products & Experiences division as it relates to achieving the team’s goals and to further elevate the team’s expertise.
  • Find opportunities and pitch global, national and local press to further amplify Paramount franchises through Consumer Products and Experiences.
  • Write department-initiated press releases and pitches as assigned.
  • Establish and implement global internal communications strategy with the goal of keeping the team connected, informed and inspired.
  • Write internal communications for Consumer Products and Experiences employees globally.
  • Serve as a point of contact for Consumer Products & Experiences partners in all lines of business to provide strategic support and manage press releases.
  • Serve as day-to-day contact for Consumer Products and Experiences department coordinating assigned projects, inquiries and required assets.
  • Maintain consumer products press lists.
  • Contribute to publicity efforts across all Paramount Communications teams as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of publicity experience required
  • Must have positive relationships with national consumer and lifestyle press, entertainment and licensing trade press, and business press
  • Bachelor’s degree

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $125,000.00 – 135,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
