Job Description
Directs, plans, and organizes the staff and activities of the compensation programs including job evaluation and analysis. Responsible for performing ongoing evaluations of the System’s compensation program for assigned functional areas.
Job Responsibility
- Leads the Compensation group by communicating with and developing staff members, and building consensus for programs and goals that support a business, function or geographic area.
- Develops and articulates a short-term strategic vision for areas of responsibility.
- Leads the administration of the health system’s compensation programs.
- Continually reviews the Health System’s comparative position relative to market data and determines appropriate salary grades and attributes of jobs.
- Completes timely and accurate salary surveys and analyzes results.
- Evaluates jobs by reviewing job descriptions, analyzing best practice and benchmark data both internally and externally to ensure the Health System’s job design is commensurate with market and internally equitable.
- Assists department heads in developing and modifying job descriptions in accordance with requirements.
- Participates in the development of training and communications programs to communicate new or revised compensation plans to the organization; works in conjunction with employee communications to deliver communications.
- Models compensation alternatives. Makes appropriate recommendations.
- Coordinates with HRIT to create report templates that meet Compensation reporting needs.
- Monitors performance against plans and takes action necessary to ensure achievement; collects, analyzes and summarizes compensation information to satisfy statutory and regulatory and organization requirements. Interfaces with Labor and Employee Relations and Talent Acquisition.
- Participates in special projects such as reorganizations, acquisitions, across- the-board increase processes, etc.
- Performs related duties, as required.
- Participates in due diligence, integration and education of acquisitions; selects, develops, manages, and evaluates direct reports; ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely fashion.

Job Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- 8-12 years of enterprise-wide compensation experience and 7+ years of leadership / management experience, required.
- Previous experience with the creation, design, administration, and strategy of bonus and incentive plans, preferred
- Experienced communicator with senior and executive leaders, preferred
- Experience within a matrixed organization, preferred

The salary range for this position is $130,300-$228,000/year
