Description
SUMMARY
The Director, Corporate Communications works closely with the Chief Communications Officer, has responsibility for development and implementation of a comprehensive internal corporate communications strategy which effectively positions and elevates Hallmark Media and its workforce. Will partner with all internal departments including human resources, admin, legal, government relations, marketing, consumer products, corporate and brand strategy, and technology to support and elevate communications surrounding key business initiatives. In addition, this includes oversight of crisis communications, awards, LinkedIn, and corporate social responsibility efforts. The role will also serve as a key communications liaison to parent company, Hallmark Cards, and subsidiary, Crayola.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute communications objectives and develop strategies to elevate Hallmark Media, its workforce, and business entities
- Evaluate existing communications program in the context of its ability to support strategic planning and operating objectives
- Serve as main liaison with human resources, admin, legal, government relations, marketing, consumer products, corporate and brand strategy, and technology; develop and pitch stories related to corresponding external business initiatives
- Provide guidance to business leaders to achieve desired results, develop metrics to measure success
- Determine and/or create opportunities to increase Hallmark Media’s profile through oversight of corporate LinkedIn platform and corporate social responsibility initiatives and activities, including Hallmark Media’s Make Her Mark Women’s Directing Program
- In collaboration with Chief Communications Officer, serve as key liaison for Hallmark Cards, Crayola, in addition to oversight of crisis communications
- Provides thorough and current information regarding Hallmark Media’s workforce and related operations to internal and external constituents in a timely and appropriate manner
- Oversight of company awards, brand messaging and talking points
- Manage department budgets pertaining to corporate communications in collaboration with the broader communications leadership team
- Responsible for providing guidance, development and direction to coordinator position
Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 10+ years progressive PR/Communications Industry Experience
- Prior leadership experience managing a PR/Communications function for a network(s)
- Bachelor’s degree is required with emphasis in Communication, Public Relations, English, Journalism or related field highly desired
OTHER REQUIREMETNS
- Experience in serving as an advisor to leaders, crafting media campaigns and messages; demonstrated ability to communicate substantive and accurate messages to a wide variety of audiences
- Experience in design and development of a strategic communications program; previous experience in developing an internal communication programs and strategies a plus
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment
- Track record of gaining trust and delivering superior service
- Collaborative, diplomatic and energetic work style to engage leaders to ensure the execution of communications programs
- Demonstrated experience as a problem solver and negotiator
- Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills
- Proficiency using Microsoft applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)
- Entertainment industry and cable television knowledge preferred
The salary range for this job is between $119,400 – $163,600 annually. Salary rate will take into consideration several factors including location.
