UCF Communications & Marketing
UCF Marketing ensures the integrity of the UCF brand, increases the university’s visibility, attracts students, engages alumni, creates cost-saving opportunities and connects UCF to the community through strategic communication and partnerships. It is our mission to tell the UCF story locally, statewide, nationally and internationally across multiple media and through a variety of channels.
The Opportunity:
Communications and Marketing Professionals promote the University to internal and external audiences, markets the University’s services, engages the local community in University activities and performs government relations and legislative liaison activities. The Creative Director leads a team of designers to ensure brand and quality standards across visual communication touchpoints and delivers aligned results and enables the success of the team.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains brand visual standards and ensures integrity and quality of design output
- Manages, coaches, and develops a team of designers
- Maintains, revises, and implements design processes, tools, and operating procedures to ensure quality and efficiency
- Tracks and measures output volume and creative efficacy of team and deliverables
- Collaborates with Communications and Marketing colleagues to deliver effective creative that meets the needs of departmental and organizational goals
- Guides the visual execution of large-scale brand campaigns
- Pitches concepts to internal and external stakeholders
- Consults with institution partners and leads and influences executions across university visuals
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong working knowledge of design fundamentals and modern design tools, including Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong communication skills and ability to articulate feedback to designers and visual creators
- Ability to interpret data, goals and objectives, audience segmentation, as well as skills in understanding and speaking to marketing strategy in order to produce creative that delivers results and drives action
- Strategic thinker, able to make informed decisions from various inputs, including marketing data and qualitative information
- Proactive and highly motivated, demonstrating the ability to work collaboratively within a flexible and cohesive team, but also be a strong independent contributor
- Ability to drive ideas and gain credibility and rapport with all types of internal and external stakeholders in a team environment
- Creative thinker, uncovering unique and fresh ways to express themes and concepts in compelling and creative ways
- Experience in both digital and print based design and production
