The base salary range for a Director-Dental Administration is $99,000 to $170,000. Actual salaries will vary by geographic location and are based on factors such as candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, competencies, employee tenure, and equity. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance and individual performance.

In order to be considered for this opportunity, applicants must have 10 years of insurance experienceon the carrier side and advanced knowledge of dental products and the dental industry as a minimum expectation. Director-Dental Administration Overview

As a key member of the Operations Leadership Team, the Directorwill have responsibility for planning and directing operational aspects of dental administration with new and existing plan partners. This role will serve as the chief liaison to UCCI Claims and Call Center business to maintain ongoing relationships with key senior staff and ensures contractual SLAs achievement is successful. This position will lead, direct, and have full management accountability for staff in area of responsibility with an emphasis on talent management in accordance with corporate strategic direction.

Essential Duties

  • Provides leadership and direction for dental operations, interfaces, reporting, and liaison with UCCI and Plan Partner counterparts to ensure alignment with the Dental business strategy on call center performance and key initiatives.
  • Effectively identifies and implements process and performance improvements with a focus on efficiency, quality, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Manages relationships internally to actively address operational challenges owning corrective action plans and delivering results.
  • Coordinates activities with the Dental PMO for project management in support of new capabilities, changes initiated at Plan Partners or UCCI, and process improvement initiatives with other dental support areas (including Product, Clinical, Provider, Underwriting, etc.).
  • Oversees production metrics to monitor all Claims and Call Center performance.
  • Oversees delivery of operational metric reports in a timely manner including trends to key stakeholders. Initiates corrective action process for utilization when stats fall below expectation.
  • Oversees and directs Business Analysis staff to ensure process documentation is current and accurate. Focus on continuous improvement is pursued in all operational functions.
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships to actively address operational challenges owning corrective action plans and delivery of results.
  • Coordinates with Dental PMO leadership for Plan Partner migrations and implementations. Works closely with internal business partners to ensure satisfactory completion. May perform other duties as assigned.
  • Coordinates internal audits in support of compliance requirements for CMS and Plan Partners. Implements CAP’s as necessary to achieve performance expectations
  • Project management including planning, assessing risks and opportunities, creating budgets, communicating with stakeholders, troubleshooting problems, and ensuring accountability
  • Vendor management including research and selection, establishing work standards, maintaining relationships and monitoring performance

Management Level Expectations

  • Recommends staffing strategies, oversees development of staff, approves terminations and recommendations while operating within the approved departmental budget
  • Communicates company level information to staff
  • Ensures succession plans are in place

  • Ensures gaps are resolved, regardless of whether they occur in their area of expertise

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of health care concepts and methodologies
  • Advanced knowledge of Dental products
  • Advanced knowledge of the Dental industries, markets, players, metrics, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of call center metrics and claims processes and procedures
  • Advanced knowledge of technical systems, data exchange and development methodologies
  • Outstanding organizational management skills
  • Knowledge of corporate goals, objectives, and operations
  • A global approach to problem-solving and decision making
  • Advanced MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to define business strategy and alliances for new and existing plan partners
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and state regulations related to company products
  • Outstanding negotiation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills including the ability to address a wide range of audiences
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritizes, and works within time constraints

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in the insurance carrier industry
  • 6+ years in a management or leadership position
  • Experience with dental insurance products required
