WORK SCHEDULE: Campus hours of operation are Monday – Thursday 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, Friday 7:30 am to 11:30 am. Typical 40-hour work week minimum with occasional night and weekend work.

DESCRIPTION

Under the general direction of the assigned administrator, plans, organizes, administers, and evaluates a broad set of activities pertaining to the Dual Enrollment Program.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

E = indicates essential duties of the position

  • Plans, supervises, directs, implements, assesses, evaluates, and implements the Dual Enrollment Program activities to ensure that the program’s goals, objectives, and timelines are met and are in alignment with the District, college, and program’s strategic priorities and objectives, ensuring equitable access to higher education.(E)
  • Develops and implements equitable services, strategies, operational policies, procedures, and standards pertinent to the goals and objectives of the Dual Enrollment Program; monitors and assesses program activities for equitable access and success, culturally relevant educational effectiveness, and operational efficiency. (E)
  • Develops, oversees, and implements programs to inform and engage high school students, administrators, teachers, counselors, and parents in the District’s educational opportunities; oversees and participates in developing, preparing, and distributing marketing materials. (E)
  • Oversees the implementation of dual enrollment programs in local K-12 school districts; meets with high school administrators and conducts needs analyses; collaborates with Academic Affairs and K-12 administration to develop curriculum, schedule courses, and ensure necessary resources are available. (E)
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships, and serves as the college’s administrative liaison, with local educational agencies and other community organizations. (E)
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships between Academic Affairs, Student Services, and Dual Enrollment to ensure no duplication of efforts and to encourage integration of our Dually Enrolled population into the campus. (E)
  • Develops and manages the Dual Enrollment Program budget; approves the allocation of resources. (E)
  • Collaborates with IERP to manage the collection and analysis of data; oversees and participates in the preparation and submission of fiscal reports, program plans, progress reports, and other narrative and statistical reports as required and in accordance with District and external agency requirements toward eradicating the disproportionate impacts. (E)
  • Communicates the program initiatives’ objectives, progress, and outcomes to faculty, staff, students, administrators, university and high school partners, and the community; maintains open and regular communications with all project stakeholders. (E)
  • Develops and delivers presentations to various audiences. (E)
  • Serves as a district representative on various committees associated with the program. (E)
  • Supervises District and project personnel. (E)
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university AND four years of experience planning, directing, and organizing dual enrollment, academic advising, or other closely related projects or programs.

OR

  • A graduate degree from a recognized college or university AND two years of experience planning, directing, and organizing dual enrollment, academic advising, or other closely related projects or programs.
  • Commitment to equity-based leadership and programming that ensures equitable access and support to eradicate disproportionate impact gaps.
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, differing abilities, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, passion for the pursuit of DEIA principles and actions and how that positively impacts the organization, and how positive leadership successfully promotes the achievement of all students’ educational goals.
  • Experience supervising or providing work direction to staff.

  • Collaborate with academic and classified personnel to develop strategies to enhance student success outcomes
  • Work closely with division chairs in the development and implementation of dual enrollment courses, including general education and career technical education through a variety of modalities including face-to-face, online, etc.
  • Coordinate with division chairs for course and program offerings, as well as with Counseling for transferability and certificate/degree completion.
  • Learn and apply new information and skills.
  • Create an environment conducive to the development of instructional and student services innovations.
  • Exercise independent judgment in developing and implementing creative solutions to program conditions or problems.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to students, colleagues, and clients with diverse cultures, languages, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Lead, motivate, supervise, and evaluate the work of others.
  • Develop and administer complex budgets.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Establish and maintain effective relations among faculty, staff, students, and administrators, as well as the community and local educational agencies.
  • Develop and deliver effective public presentations.

WORK DIRECTION, LEAD AND SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides work direction to classified employees, student workers, hourly workers, and others as required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Typical office environment with frequent traveling to dual enrollment partner sites and other locations.
  • Effective and timely transportation to and from work sites, public events, and other appointments that may be necessary.
  • Typical 40-hour work week minimum with occasional night and weekend work.
