About the Family & Social Services Administration (FSSA):
FSSA was established by the Indiana General Assembly in 1991 to consolidate and better integrate the delivery of human services by state government. FSSA is a health care and social services funding agency. Ninety-four percent of the agency’s total budget is paid to thousands of service providers ranging from major medical centers to a physical therapist working with a child or adult with a developmental disability. The six care divisions in FSSA administer services to more than 1.5 million Hoosiers. FSSA’s mission is to compassionately serve Hoosiers of all ages and connect them with social services, health care and their communities.
Salary: The salary for this position traditionally starts at $70,122.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
Role Overview: This role, Director of Engagement and Analytics (DEA), provides data leadership and expertise to the Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services (DDRS). The successful candidate will turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions. We are looking for someone that is skilled at translating the technical data jargon to a non-technical internal and external audience, and the person in the position will need to be able to work with and support Bureau data/analysis personnel with varying levels of technical expertise. You will lead and coordinate data projects across the bureaus housed within DDRS by working closely with and providing consultation to identified data team members. The Team will proactively identify agency challenges and work cross-functionally to diagnose, recommend, implement solutions. Your role will provide the Team technical support and ensure cross-divisional alignment.
A Day in the Life:
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
- Engages with high-level leaders in target industries to evaluate and facilitate collaboration opportunities.
- Responsible for mentorship and tailored project support to create functional pairings within the team to enhance project work through collaboration;
- Monitors and manages agency success metrics and create enhancement plans;
- Proactively identifies agency challenges and work cross-functionally to diagnose, recommend, and implement solutions;
- Supports project management, business intelligence, and team members on meeting goals and delivering results on statewide data initiatives;
- Leads data and analytics projects;
- Assists in leading a positive feedback culture and utilize feedback to offer guidance and support to team members;
- Utilizes deep knowledge and experience to support team members and the organization;
- Participates in community data events and share knowledge/experience with others in the field;

What You’ll Need for Success:
The ideal candidate in this role should minimally have either
- a Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ experience, or
- at least 6+ years of experience applying the below, outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role.
Related certifications and coursework may be considered for education or experience.
- Ability to analyze, process and visualize data to improve agency operations (programs, measures, admin);
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems;
- Ability to tactfully deal with wide variety of stakeholders to resolve problems;
- Demonstrated leadership skills necessary to foster a culture of curiosity within the agency;
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities;
- Strong communication skills;
- Initiative to discover solutions and improvements for clients;
- Exceptional team player.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
