You will draft and negotiate contracts and other agreements related to new and emerging sustainability regulations around the world.

This is a hybrid role based in our Purchase, NY office.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with Sustainability Office and Sector legal specialists regarding scope of sector ESG regulations
  • Draft, review and negotiate contracts related to ESG regulatory compliance
  • Provide support to ESG reporting center of excellence
  • Drafting and reviewing engagement letters for service providers and auditors attesting to regulatory compliance
  • Drafting and facilitating implementation of new language to be added to third party contracts globally to gather ESG information required to be reported
  • Interacting with sector legal, control and business teams to implement processes to gather and analyze third party data

Compensation & Benefits:
• The expected compensation range for this position is between $113,300 – $226,600
• Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary
• Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 25% of annual salary paid out annually and an additional target payout of 10% of annual salary is paid out over 3 years following the end of the performance period.
• Long term incentive equity may be awarded based on eligibility and performance.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • JD or LLM from an accredited law school strongly preferred
  • 4+ years’ experience handling complex contractual arrangements
  • US and/or EU ESG reporting experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong drafting and negotiation and research skills
  • Innovative thinker with ability to work with cross-functional team who has a positive attitude and displays sound judgment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in presentations and express complex regulatory requirements in concise, organized and articulate matter
