MSPCC, a division of Eliot, is currently seeking a seasoned candidate with ten years experience in leading policy/program planning and/or strategic analysis efforts. Our ideal person would havefamiliarity with behavioral health care operational, financial and human resources and quality assurance regulation and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee efforts to advance Agency’s public policy, government affairs and strategic
communications agenda across a range of issues and partnerships with strong emphasis on
improving child welfare and children’s mental health. - Supervise the efforts of Policy and Communications staff.
- With the Executive Director and Director of Development, secure the resources necessary to
support Agency’s advocacy and strategic communications activities and maintain strong
positive relationships with funders including assuring timely submission of reports. - Manage sub-contracts with partner organizations.
- Ensure that Agency complies with all legal and regulatory requirements for engaging
lobbying. - Lead the development of a well-informed Agency Policy Agenda to include the priorities of
the Children’s Mental Health Campaign and MA Alliance for Families. - Steward Agency’s intergovernmental relationships with legislators and across relevant State
Agencies to include individual meetings and participation in task forces and work groups.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in human services, political science or related field.
- Minimum of ten years experience in leading policy/program planning and/or strategic analysis
efforts. - Sound understanding of child welfare and mental health policy, programs and models.
- Familiarity with behavioral health care operational, financial and human resources and quality
assurance regulation and standards. - Strong relationship-building skills with ability to interface
with all levels of the organization as well as external contacts including legislators and donors. - Strong research and analytical skills and the ability to think strategically.
Schedule: Monday – Friday 9-5 (some weekend and evening hours may be required)
Salary range (depending upon education and experience): $150K – $175K yearly
