Summary of Position: The Director of Facilities oversees facilities, including physical plant and maintenance services, providing leadership for the building, renovation, and maintenance of facilities with a focus on preserving infrastructure and enhancing sustainability. Participate in rotation with other facilities managers for on call manager on weekends.
Essential Functions

2. Complete all required College training and responsible for maintaining the skills necessary to complete the essential functions of the position as defined by the department.

4. Lead facilities capital development, planning and implementation of projects – Supporting Action/Task May Include:
- Direct the management of all capital projects
- Coordinate and integrate all aspects of real estate management including financial analysis of real estate transactions, operational budget and direct oversight of facilities including maintenance, physical security, and business continuity/disaster recovery procedures
- Advise Senior Leaders and District Board on facilities’ operations of the district
- Develop and provide oversight for the implementation of facilities’ master plans, as well as leadership for land planning/landscape architecture, space programming and analysis, integrated sustainable planning and real estate management
- Collaborate with the VP of Finance and Operations, the business office and the District Board Budget and Facilities Subcommittee to develop and monitor the capital projects budget and review any proposed modifications
- Review project plan and specifications to ensure conformance to College standards and compliance with project objectives.
- Act as a liaison between project personnel, internal customers, and contractors.
- Schedule projects to minimize downtime and impact on existing systems and work environments. Work with Purchasing to prepare Request for Proposals (RFPs) and select contractors
- Review contractor bids, RFPS and selects contractors to perform work in accordance with College policies
5. Physical Plant Oversight – Supporting Action/Task May Include:
- Ensures safe, reliable, and efficient use of facilities
- Interpret codes related to building maintenance, fire safety, building standards, plumbing and electrical codes, elevator safety standards and other appropriate codes.
- Prepare and submit all WTCS documentation for project approval, as required by state statutes.
- Coordinate and schedule business interruptions related to maintenance and project activities impacting space, power, water, gas, parking, moves, etc.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required in related field with 4 years occupational experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Higher Education experience
- Experience in sustainable practice in facilities management
