Directly reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer this role will work collaboratively with cross-functional global teams to develop and execute retail sales strategies that deliver exceptional customer experiences and maximize revenue generation. The Director – Global Showroom Sales is a global and dynamic leadership role responsible for assessing the CRM landscape to identify key objectives leading the strategy and execution of those objectives.
You will lead a team of >150 retail sales professionals playing a pivotal role in shaping the brand’s continued success in physical retail spaces. As the business grows rapidly, the primary responsibility of this role will be the refinement and development of showroom talent, experience, and operational execution. Most importantly, this role requires an exceptional level of talent development, self-discipline, time management, business acumen and initiative.
This role is to be based from our LA, California, USA working space located in El Segundo, LA and requires regular travel.

About the Role:
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and customer service teams to align sales efforts with other departments, fostering a holistic approach to customer engagement.
- Sales KPI Management: Set ambitious sales KPIs for each showroom and retail location, providing guidance and support to the retail sales team to achieve and surpass targets.
- Sales Performance Reporting: Develop and maintain accurate and timely performance reports on sales KPIs, using the data to identify trends, strengths, and improvement areas.
- Clearly analyse current and future projected trends within unique markets and with unique consumers
- Aligns multiple departments and priorities focusing on the future vision of the brand.
- Flex across multiple projects and departments planning and prioritizing to execute major change.
- Use supporting technology & data to develop showroom leaders to drive their business and develop a growth mindset.
- Sales Performance Analysis: Utilize data-driven insights to analyse retail sales performance, identify trends, and implement improvements to maximize conversion rates and optimize revenue.
- Talent Attraction & Development: Collaborate with Talent Team and Senior Managers to attract, identify, hire, and retain top level talent; assess talent and succession plans.
- Performance & Culture: Demonstrate and communicate clear expectations and quickly addressing issues within sales workforce in a timely manner holding teams accountable to embrace and adhere to the company values.
- Partner with the People Solutions Group to resolve escalated employee relations issues and conducts follow up where needed.
- Retail Sales Strategy: Collaborate with the Chief Revenue Officer and other key stakeholders to develop and implement retail sales strategies that align with the company’s growth objectives and market expansion plans.
- Partner with Exec Leadership to determine the right metrics for ongoing assessment and decision-making.
- Measure cost performance and EBITDA profitability regularly by region/function to determine spend and deployment opportunities.
- Measure showroom team and sales outcomes, impacts on the business and opportunities for improvement.
- Showroom Operations: Oversee and optimize showroom operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows, exceptional visual merchandising, correct product assortment and adherence to company policies and guidelines.
- Customer Experience Enhancement: Champion a customer-centric approach in showrooms, providing guidance on delivering exceptional customer service and fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment.
- Sales Training and Development: Partner with Director of Sales Learning & Performance to develop comprehensive training programs for retail sales professionals, empowering them with the skills and knowledge necessary to drive sales and provide exceptional customer experiences.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with marketing, product development, and inventory management teams to align retail sales efforts with other departments and product launches.
- Expansion and New Store Openings: Contribute to the strategic planning and execution of new showroom openings, ensuring a successful launch and continued growth.
- Budget Management: Collaborate with finance and operations teams to develop and manage budgets for showrooms and retail locations, optimizing resources and cost-effectiveness.
- Performance Reporting: Prepare regular performance reports and presentations for the Chief Revenue Officer and executive team, providing insights on retail sales outcomes and growth opportunities.
- Sales Events and Promotions: Work with the marketing and showroom leadership teams to plan and execute sales events and promotions, driving foot traffic and enhancing the brand’s presence in physical retail spaces.
- In partnership with marketing, be a brand ambassador to initiate conversations with potential collaborative partners, brands vendors for the development of local and global consumer engagement with outreach, referrals and global/local events and activations.
- New client acquisition: leverage various marketing tools such as local partnerships and close partnerships, and feedback to marketing re: social media platforms, referrals, and networking.
- Diagnose client spend and identify opportunities to increase engagement and revenue opportunities.
Required Experience & Skills/Qualifications:
- At least 7 years prior experience in a similar sales leadership role within a luxury retail landscape
- Bachelor or higher education qualification in a discipline aligned to the role highly regarded and preference given to post graduate qualifications in business administration.
- Proven experience in retail sales leadership, with a track record of driving sales KPIs and operational excellence in physical retail spaces.
- Experience leading a team of direct reports to support an organizational vision and strategy.
- History of navigating complex business relationships with multiple constituents
- Intermediate skills utilizing MS Office Suite with Advanced Excel skills as highly desirable
- Must be able to travel 40% – 60% of the time locally and internationally on a planned cycle plus adhoc travel out of cycle. Typically requires overnight travel.
- Ability to effectively manage shifting priorities, deliver thorough work products, and meet project deadlines.
- Demonstrates curiosity and a drive for results, particularly in the face of ambiguity.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent leadership and team-building capabilities, with a passion for coaching and developing retail sales professionals.
