Position Summary
The Director of Admissions is responsible for the daily operations of the Admissions Office and supervises professional staff. This position works closely with the VP for Enrollment Management to collaborate and implement recruitment strategies to ensure a highly functional Admissions Office. Responsibilities include providing an exceptional customer service experience for students and their parents/families; actively participating in the Enrollment Management process to leverage JRM communications and data to drive decision-making; implementing annual recruitment plans; recommending procedures and policies; and coordinating staff training/coaching to ensure individual recruitment goals are met.
Essential Functions
- Manage the daily operations of the Department of Admissions in an effort to meet or exceed admissions department goals
- Manage staff, which includes prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff are trained and provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures, and maintaining a healthy and safe working environment
- Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, and hiring new staff
- Manages the implementation of daily internal operations for the Admissions Office which includes implementing annual plans and recommending departmental procedures and policies
- Work closely with the VP for Enrollment Management, contributing to the strategic planning process of enrollment management goals, and represents the Admissions Office on the Enrollment Management Leadership Team
- Build relationships, positively represent Southeast Technical College (STC), and manage recruitment efforts of Admissions Representatives. This includes their assigned territories and responsibilities for high school visits and communications with prospective students, parents, and influencers in their assigned territories
- Leverage financial assistance strategies as a recruitment tool
- Plan and conduct weekly admissions meetings, daily line-up meetings, and weekly individual training and coaching as needed
- Collaborate and work closely with academic departments and student services offices to maximize recruitment and ensure student success
- Conduct research and assessment of recruitment efforts throughout campus and produces appropriate reports of efforts
- Proactively use technology to improve processes and office efficiencies
- Develop and maintain internal and external relationships, participate in/on a variety of meetings/committees/task forces to communicate information regarding recruitment, represent STC at state-level and national-level professional organizations as appropriate
- Perform other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience: Three plus years of admissions experience with progressive growth of responsibilities. Supervisory experience required.
- Other requirements:
- Computer skills: Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and database management systems. Ability to learn and utilize computerized systems and programs related to student enrollment. Experience working with student information systems, CRM databases, and analytical measurements and software relative to the Admissions process. Ability to learn and utilize Cloud-based computer technology. Fully functional with online communication tools and social media.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
General office environment with standard office equipment available. Lighting and temperature are adequate. Moderate noise levels typical of an office environment due to staff and student conversations and office equipment. Possible exposure to outdoor weather conditions when traveling to other locations.
