Director of Campus Capital Program

ENGIE North America is Seeking a Dir ector of Campus Capital Program for an Opportunity located at our Ohio State University location. The Director formally represents the “Operator” in the day to day management of the “O&M and Capital Program Agreement” with the Concessionaire as well as with the university (end-customer) and is responsible for the P&L of $50m+ per year business (the campus Capital Improvement program). They ensures the Operator delivers the requirements of the O&M and Capital Program Agreement, and seeks win-win arrangements with the customer to improve the contract to reduce risk and improve earnings. They will lead a functionally diverse team of engineers, project managers, project coordinators, and construction managers, that develops, sells, and executes energy system capital improvement projects at the university campus. They will closely work with, and take direction from the Director of the Central Capital Projects team.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage the $50m+ per year business
  • Lead and manage the campus capital projects team to deliver, at a minimum, the business plan capital program in terms of development, sales (approval by the university), and execution (construction and project management) on budget, on time, with successful health, safety, environmental, public relations, and D&I performance
  • Provide leadership and holistic oversight to the capital program to ensure the coordinated development of individual projects to follow the strategic decarbonization plan and avoid conflict
  • Provide a turnkey service to the Director of Energy Solutions while supporting him/her with stakeholder and customer relations management
  • Flourish and maintain cooperative and collaborative interaction with various university departments and managers for the long-term success of the Concession Agreement
  • Under the technical guidance of the Director of Central Capital Projects Team, implement and share best practices and resources
  • Lead the digital solutions implementation on campuses
  • Support the academic collaboration part of the Concession Agreement as appropriate
  • Liaise with ENGIE Labs and import/partner/acquire disruptive and innovative ideas, processes, and products from the university faculty and students into ENGIE businesses
  • Liaise with ENGIE North America and ENGIE Global IPOS (industrial projects oversight and support) teams

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, business, or a related field
  • 10 years of work experience in a related field
  • Experience in campus energy systems design, development, and construction is a plus
  • Experience in Public Private Partnership (3p’s) is a plus
  • Hire, retain and develop the campus capital projects team
  • Meet, at a minimum, and exceed the concession business plan capital project development targets. Deliver the projects on time, on budget, with successful health, safety, environmental, public relations, and D&I performance
  • Attend internal meetings and conference calls, in person and remotely
  • Maintain exceptional level of organization and professionalism
  • Represent ENGIE on campus, adhering and championing campus rules, customs, and practices
  • Consistently identify challenges and present resolutions, in support of long-term partnership goals
  • Operate within high-pressure environment of a large university campus
  • Moderate travel requirements to other ENGIE campuses/offices, conferences

  • Ability to work remotely with necessary telecommunications tools
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of time
  • Experience presenting and speaking publicly to senior executives
  • Experience working within higher education environment preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Position requires combination of office environment setting and some exposure to outdoor environments
  • Sitting and standing for periods of time, limited amount of climbing and crawling could be required in some circumstances
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes exposed to weather conditions
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

  • Salary Range: $105,910.00 – $270,530.00 annually
  • Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors
  • In addition to salary, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan
