What you will be doing

At Albertsons, we value our data as an asset. This role is one of the key enablers for unlocking the value of our data! Reporting into the Vice President of Data Management & Governance, this position will be responsible for leading a team of data management product owners to instill modern data management practices to deliver high quality data at scale.

The position will be based in Pleasanton, California or Phoenix, Arizona.

Main responsibilities

Product Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of data management product owners; Own the data management roadmap to meet the data needs of strategic business priorities across multiple lines of business (LOB) for growth and operational efficiency.
  • Set vision and strategy to ensure that the overall data and roadmap for Albertsons’ enterprise data warehouse is aligned to business goals and is managed well according to modern data management practices.
  • Build collaborative relationships with key partners by driving priorities aligned to OKRs, communicating and prioritizing product roadmaps, and gaining buy-in from executive leadership.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer by championing the prioritization of initiatives for data engineering teams.
  • Act as an arbiter between business groups to assist in setting a global prioritization for work being done in the enterprise data warehouse.

Data Management:

  • Partner with data engineering to ensure that delivery is transparent, meets expectations and data is fit for purpose.
  • Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs.
  • Provide timely, reliable and fit for purpose data quality. Create and manage the data quality incident management process for remediation.
  • Ensure good communication is occurring with data consumers of the enterprise data warehouse, that their priorities are heard, and that their satisfaction is being measured.
  • Ensure that metrics that describe the operational well-being, state, and risks of the enterprise data warehouse are being captured and reported to Data Governance and all appropriate stakeholders.

The salary range is $137,300 to $192,200 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.

What we are searching for

  • Eight (8) + years in a leadership role in Data Management
  • Four (4) + years in a leadership role in product management.
  • Experience in implementing and executing modern data management practices, including leveraging ML-assisted tooling to achieve higher quality and scale.
  • Passion for creating business value with data.
  • Retail & E-Commerce background beneficial
  • Excellent relationship management, communication, presentation skills
  • Experience demonstrating the following traits: strategic thinking, learning attitude, detail orientation, delivering against deadlines, driving change, and ownership.
  • Ability to manage staff remotely and collaborate with teams across multiple locations, time zones and cultures.
  • Ability to work across the matrix to deliver on shared services vision.
