Within CO+I, the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) organization is responsible for global datacenter engineering, procurement, construction, cost and planning execution, delivering IT capacity to Microsoft customers worldwide.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Datacenter – Engineering, Procurement, and Construction for our Strategic Initiatives, Quality Assurance, and Project Management Office (PMO) who will report to the CO+I EPC Center of Excellence Leader. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and execution of strategic initiatives across the EPC organization, overseeing quality assurance and compliance activities, and managing the PMO.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives that align with the organization’s mission and vision.
- Lead the development and implementation of quality assurance and compliance activities, ensuring that all processes and procedures meet regulatory and industry standards.
- Manage the Project Management Office (PMO) and ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize strategic initiatives, develop project plans, and implement initiatives.
- Lead and mentor a team of project managers, quality assurance specialists, and other professionals to ensure high performance and productivity.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with senior leaders, stakeholders, and external partners to ensure that strategic initiatives and projects are aligned with the organization’s goals.
- Conduct regular analysis and reporting of strategic initiatives, quality assurance, and PMO activities to provide insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Continuously monitor and assess industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Operations, technical field or related field AND 8+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement
- OR equivalent experience.
- 6+ years management (e.g., people, project, process, vendor, change) experience.
- Experience in any of the following: Global datacenter engineering, procurement, construction, cost and planning execution, delivering IT capacity
- 10+ years experience in strategic planning, project management, quality assurance or PMO management.
- Experience working in the construction industry.
- Background Check Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
- These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check every two years thereafter.

- Experience working in a complex long cycle projects based business.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex strategic initiatives and projects from conception to completion.
- Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve outstanding results.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and external partners.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make sound decisions.
- Experience working in the construction industry
- Experience in data center construction field
- PMP or other relevant certifications preferred.

Business Program Management M6 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,800 – $266,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $159,000 – $292,200 per year.
