General Description of Position:
The Director of Diversity, Equity and Belonging has responsibility to provide the necessary planning, structure, leadership and direction for the full execution for a campus-wide diversity program. They will be responsible for developing a campus-wide approach to enhancing excellence through diversity and inclusion of students, faculty, staff, and the broader community. The Director will help to create an organizational culture that sets clear expectations, provides appropriate support, and engenders respect and dignity at all levels of the organization, in collaboration with the Office of Diversity, Equity and Belonging at Systems Office.
Major Responsibilities:
Assesses campus needs relating to diversity, equity, belonging, and engagement
Instills and monitors campus-wide initiatives and organizational structures that facilitate inclusion and equity
Provides vision, leadership, management, and strategic planning for inclusion and equity initiatives across campus
Knows how to obtain key college and community data and understand how to interpret data relating to diversity, equity and belonging
Assesses productivity and success of programs, policies, and services
Prepares reports for presentation to senior leadership and the Campus Board of Trustees
Develops, implements and monitors trainings, professional development and educational programs for faculty, staff and students that promote and sustain diversity, equity and belonging
Assists Human Resources with employee recruitment and retention, Affirmative Action and other Equal Employment Opportunity programs and initiatives.
May Chair or serve as Ex-Officio Officer to the Campus Diversity Committee comprised of faculty, staff, alumni, community residents and students
Serves as a liaison for individuals who have specific issues related to inclusion and equity and works with internal channels to address issues of bias, equity and/or belonging
Represents the College at various community, civic, professional meetings, and conferences, as requested
Partners with Marketing to provide consistent message to the College community on diversity-related issues to advance the mission of the College
Participates in the Statewide Diversity, Equity and Belonging Committee and provides input for statewide diversity, equity and belonging policies, procedures, practices and programming.

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements and professional standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree Required
Demonstrated ability to build relationships through community outreach and engagement.
Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
Experience working with diverse community groups
Ability to partner well with colleagues both in and outside of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
3 years of related experience in diversity programming.
Experience with equal employment/affirmative action.
