Who YOU are:
The Director of Enterprise Applications provides vision and leadership for developing and implementing information technology initiatives. In support of Credit Union operations, the Director of Enterprise Applications directs the planning and implementation of IT systems in order to improve cost effectiveness, enhance products and services, and service quality.

The primary role includes proactive supervision and oversight activities of enterprise-wide applications including: core banking, document imaging, general ledger, consumer loan origination, real estate loan origination, commercial loan administration, collections, robotic process automation, and other enterprise-wide applications. The position will also work closely with the stakeholders in order to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. The position will also apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to support all staff, development process, and to ensure that project deliverables are met according to specifications.

The position is also responsible for oversight of user acceptance testing for scoped applications, to ensure integrity and accuracy of data within tolerances, managing system issues resolution with vendors, system enhancements, and version or service pack deployment.

What YOU’LL do:

Leadership, Strategy and Development

Develop, document, administer, and maintain protocol for:

  • Establishes Enterprise Application departmental goals, objectives, and operating procedures.
  • Ensures continuous delivery of IT services through the monitoring of IT systems performance.
  • Works in conjunction with other departments, such as Marketing, Human Resources, Lending, and Branch Operations to advise of technology that may improve their efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Direct and manage activities of Enterprise Application Staff including monthly dialogs, quarterly reviews and all personnel activities
  • Ensure all assigned projects meet established planning, testing, budget and implementation standards
  • Ensure the efficient utilization of IT resources – including personnel and equipment – across the organization
  • Ongoing training of assigned personnel, including developing, with input from employees and the training manager
  • Annual or longer-term individualized training programs including position specific workshops, seminars, and certification
  • Regularly reviewing and documenting each employee’s progress with his/her plan, making adjustments as necessary
  • Advocate for change across the organization. Ensure the implementation of change with appropriate communications, goals, resources, metrics, and reviews. Actively communicate the purpose, strategy and status of change efforts. Take ownership and personal responsibility for implementing change, addressing questions and resistance with confidence and understanding.
  • Stays abreast of industry trends, tools and technologies. Keep innovation at the forefront. Continuously focus improving processes and practices that create the most value. Drive the organization to measure and continuously improve critical processes. Leverage fresh perspectives, breakthrough ideas, and new paradigms to create value.
  • Minimum required annual training includes: Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), security awareness, and core banking system forum. All efforts will be made to conduct training online or via conference call. The annual schedule is subject to additional or substitute training

Governance, Compliance, and Risk Management

Develop, document, administer, and maintain analyses for:

  • Ensures IT system operation adheres to applicable laws and regulations.
    Oversees the obtaining, installing, and maintaining of end-user computer hardware and software as well as all other products and supplies necessary to keep computer systems operable.
  • Ensure all postings and reports are completed accurately and as scheduled
  • Collaborate in development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, maintain current knowledge of plan executable, and respond to crises in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans
  • Collaborate with project managers and sponsors to determine project scope and vision
  • Develop all or portions of project plans for user acceptance testing and new systems or services
  • Remain current with user and system software and service packs
  • Establish and enforce user acceptance testing service levels agreements in consultation with end users to establish problem resolution expectations and timeframes
  • Prepares and maintains technical specifications and related documentation to secure procedures and prevent system failure.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor degree (B.S. or B.A.) or equivalent from four-year College or technical school; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience required: 6-8 Years.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the organization’s core business process, operations, and primary software applications
  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development
  • Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of system solutions
  • Ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Ability to apply statistical and other research methods into systems issues and products Clear understanding of product management and market placement
  • Demonstrated project management skills and project management software skills, including planning, organizing and managing resources
  • Understanding of application development and software development life cycle concepts
  • Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
