What We Are Looking For:

The Director of Merchandising and Design Operations is responsible for the overall merchandising of the ANINE BING apparel and non-apparel collection and for ensuring the offering delivers to the financial goals of the company. This is a critical role that will work side by side with our Design Director, our Buying and Planning teams and all Revenue Channels. This individual must understand the components that go into creating a successful assortment including, but not limited to, market positioning and pricing, brand dna, seasonality, channel needs, market needs and product development.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop seasonal blueprints that push the brand forward in key strategic growth categories while protecting established categories and reflect the needs of our revenue channels to deliver to their financial plans.
  • Act as the Voice of the Business within the Design Team while partnering with the Creative Director to provide valuable insight and direction on style development
  • Deliver profitable growth in key growth categories as identified in partnership with management further establishing ANINE BING as an elevated heritage lifestyle brand.
  • Develop and deliver cohesive product stories balanced strategically across end use and price points with an understanding of our customer needs, industry trends and seasonality.
  • Strategic product liaison working cross functionally with the Creative, Ecom, Retail and Wholesale teams ensuring product and collection vision materializes in market to end consumer.
  • Own pricing for all product categories, ensuring the optimal mix between pricing bands, considering customer price elasticity, maximizing gross margin dollars and delivering to company gross margin targets
  • Oversee all design operations and processes identifying opportunities to streamline and improve processes within the team and organization to better improve Design team productivity and morale. Hold Design team accountable for T&A deliverables
  • Responsible for setting the optimal launch calendar for all products considering business and industry trends, seasonality, and balancing the needs of all channels
  • Own and responsible for product branding making sure monogramming, labels, trims and product packaging are considered, consistent and cohesive for each and every style in the line

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7+ years merchandising experience with at least 3 years in senior role
  • Luxury brand experience highly preferred
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Team-player with the ability to work cross functionally in a collaborative environment
  • Thrives in a fast-paced office
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including presenting complex material in an organized and compelling manner
  • Strong analytical skills; demonstrated ability to drive analysis into action
  • Retail industry and project management experience is strongly preferred
  • Ability to think strategically, plan, implement, lead, and manage
  • This role is required to come into the office 4-days per week therefore this candidate must be in Los Angeles.

  • The compensation range for this position is $120,000-$150,000 per year. Candidate offer will be based on relevant experience.
