The Director of Sports medicine/Senior Athletic Trainer position is 11month full-time position that serves the Physical Education and Athletics department. The Director of Sports Medicine/Senior Athletic Trainer is responsible for the organization and administration of the athletic training program for 17 NCAA Division III varsity teams and 7 club teams. There is a possibility of additional teams and clubs being added to the athletics portfolio.
The candidate will administer the concussion testing program and protocols, serve as the liaison with the team doctor, schedule medical and rehabilitation appointments, provide in and out of season team conditioning programs, oversee the athletic training budget and purchase rehabilitation supplies, maintain a quality training room, rehabilitation equipment and inventory, maintain medical records and athletic program insurance claims as well as maintain athletic records in Sports Ware and/or comparable software system.
The Director of Sports Medicine/Senior Athletic Trainer will also oversee and schedule part-time athletic trainers, assistant athletic trainers and the head athletic trainer. They will provide home and away athletic training game coverage as needed, assist in certifying coaches in AED/CPR and First Responder certifications, provide taping, bracing and kinesio-taping as needed. Additionally, the Director of Sports Medicine/Senior Athletic Trainer will assist the Athletic Director in developing policies and procedures for the administration of the athletic training program. There is a possibility of teaching one course per semester in the Physical Education curriculum.
The Director of Sports Medicine/Senior Athletic Trainer position is an 11-month position that requires a flexible work schedule; nights and weekends are necessary and traveling with teams is required.

Required Qualifications include:

Minimum B.S. in Athletic Training

Current NYS License in Athletic Training and CPR/AED and First Responder Instructor certification

7 years in a full-time capacity and successful experience at the collegiate level

Knowledge and experience in injury care, rehabilitation required. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Teaching experience a plus.
