Director of Staff ADA and Accessibility Services

POSITION OVERVIEW

As director of ADA and accessibility services, you will lead the development of supporting structures for staff members who are differently-abled and champion their success, as well as support our recruitment team in their efforts to diversify our staff.. Through coordinating with leadership across our organization, you will create training programs for supervisors and colleagues, provide job coaching, and monitor work sites regularly. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Advises and trains supervisors in best ADA practices and strategies for managing ADA requests
  • Leads all aspects of staff-related ADA compliance and innovation
  • Provides job coaching, mediates conversations with classroom teams
  • Prepares reports and analyses reflecting trends in disability related services and provides recommendations or conclusions as appropriate
  • Utilizes data for reporting and decision making
  • Leads individualized and group training initiatives in regard to disability and inclusion, ADA, and reasonable Accommodation requests
  • Responsible for all accommodation related activities as it relates to the recruitment and interview process
  • Provides technical expertise regarding the ADA and applicable federal, state, and local statutes, regulations and ordinances to SSD employees and district leaders

  • Prepares and conducts workshops and presentations on disability related topics as requested
  • Supports human resources leadership and staff and confers with legal counsel to facilitate compliance with the ADA and other disability-related employment laws
  • Collaborates with community agencies that foster employment of individuals with disabilities
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Position comes with secretarial support

QUALIFICATIONS
Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling, vocational rehabilitation, special education or related field required
  • Master’s degree in human resource management or related field preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years experience leading ADA compliance duties required
  • SHRM or HRCI certification preferred

Salary Starting at $115,000
