We are looking for a highly experienced and results-oriented marketer to lead the website strategy and operations function for New York Life Investments (NYLIM).
As the Head of Website Strategy & Operations, you will lead and guide the strategic direction and day-to-day operations looking to continuously improve website performance and user experience through data-driven decision-making, collaboration, and innovation. Your team will be responsible for increasing website traffic, engagement, and conversion rates through the effective use of content creation, search engine optimization (SEO), and other digital marketing strategies. This role requires a strong leader with a track record of successfully managing complex website strategies and operations, a solid understanding of marketing technology, and previous experience not only managing a team but also influencing an organization.
Essential Job Functions (Duties/Responsibilities):
- Develop and implement a comprehensive digital strategy for the New York Life Investments websites that align with business objectives and drive growth.
- Oversee website design and development, maintenance, and upgrades, including troubleshooting technical issues and ensuring site security.
- Lead and manage a team of web developers, designers, and content creators to ensure high-quality website performance and user experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, marketing, business intelligence, data solutions, and sales, to ensure the websites support company goals and customer needs.
- Manage and maintain the website’s content, ensuring that it is up-to-date, accurate, relevant to target audiences, and consistent with brand and messaging.
- Develop and implement search engine optimization (SEO) strategies to increase the website’s visibility, improve search engine rankings and drive traffic.
- Partner with Head of Digital Media on paid search (SEM) campaigns that align with the overall marketing strategy and budget as well as collaborate on strategic site pixeling for tracking and optimization.
- Implement and manage analytics tools to track website performance, user behavior, and conversions, and make data-driven decisions to improve the website’s effectiveness.
- Understand Adobe products and define and direct how to use the Adobe suite to optimize the site.
- Structure and implement testing and personalization using Adobe Target.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling and effective digital campaigns that drive traffic and engagement on the website.
- Partner with New York Life Corporate Marketing and IT to identify opportunities to gain efficiencies.
- Partner with business intelligence to enhance the lead scoring model and lead tracking/generation.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to build a modernized martech stack.
- Conduct regular website audits and implement improvements based on user feedback and data.
- Manage website budgets, timelines, and project plans.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve website performance.
- Ensure website compliance with legal, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required with a major in marketing, computer science, or applicable field
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in website development and management, preferably in a B2B financial services environment
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve goals and objectives.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and execute a comprehensive website strategy.
- Solid understanding of website design and development principles, as well as proficiency in relevant tools such as content management systems, analytics platforms, and SEO software.
- Significant experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), including development, deployment, and maintenance.
- Strong organization skills with past success in building and implementing new processes.
- Expertise in web analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics with the ability to lead dashboard creation and cross train team.
- Experience using data to inform website improvements.
- Familiarity with marketing automation tools.
- Knowledge of website security and data privacy regulations, such as GDPR and CCPA.
- Understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles.
- Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to think strategically and translate business objectives into digital strategies.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage and guide multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to adapt and respond to changing priorities and work well under pressure.
- Strong understanding of SEO, SEM, and content marketing best practices.
- Experience leading and managing a team of web developers, designers, and content creators.
