PURPOSE:
Responsible for leading the development and implementation of progressive sourcing strategies that deliver cost efficiencies, supply assurance and quality in the procurement process. This role is expected to help identify and screen suppliers, developing strategic relationships, negotiate terms and conditions, and continuously drive improved supplier service levels through leadership and direction on a cross functional basis. This role will also ensure procurement strategies, processes, and program executions are fully integrated to support internal business plans and company objectives and will actively collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that our knowledge, relationships and investments are effectively and efficiently leveraged. This position will lead improvement activities, optimizing product sourcing management, cost management, and problem resolution.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Leads the development, implementation and alignment of sourcing strategies and supplier network capabilities for all goods and services in the procurement category in accordance with the organizations business objectives.
Hire, leads, motivates, develops and rewards members of procurement/sourcing teams through a hands-on leadership style that empowers their growth and development.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and capture business requirements and set negotiation strategies in order to optimize cost and risk objectives.
Ensure compliance with procurement, accounting, legal and info security standards. Partner closely with info sec team.
Support all aspects of the strategic sourcing process, including RFP/RFI, vendor evaluations, risk assessment, and commercials negotiations to ensure the best outcomes.
Perform research and analytics around internal redundancies, vendor pricing and discounting practices, internal adoption and usage to identify areas of opportunity for eliminating, streamlining, consolidating, and reducing spend.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position manages people.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience
Experience: 8 years in contracting and purchasing activities. 3 years management experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Extensive experience working with government experience is preferred, 2-3 years is ideal.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Expert knowledge of procedures essential to procurement through competitive bidding.
- Knowledge of procurement techniques, research methodology, and analysis.
- Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated knowledge of strategic sourcing techniques and current best practices as related to procurement.
Salary Range: $136,320 – $253,044
