We are undergoing an extensive IT Transformation to digitize our business to support aggressive growth targets. In this critical role you will be a key member of the IT leadership team, managing the company’s product teams and partnering with business leadership to help them meet short and long term business objectives. You will work closely with IT leadership to shape the overall IT strategy and ensure the right portfolio of products are built with the right features at the right time to meet business propositions focused on growth, experience, and cost reduction through digital strategy.

Responsibilities

  1. Inspire your team to build the best outcome for the customer and/or end-user. Ensure product design and development processes meet the needs of the customer and drive business value.
  2. Bring a strong business understanding, interpersonal relationships, handling of cultural diversity, communication skills, and influence capability to build a high-performing team of Product Managers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Business Architects.
  3. Ensure delivery of work supports the program or product vision and goals.
  4. Understand and communicate the drivers, goals, and strategy associated with programs and products.
  5. Make evidence-based decisions using qualitative and quantitative data. Continuously track key metrics and validate the success of projects and features.
  6. Coordinate and unblock cross-functional teams when there are challenges delivering value for portfolio product management strategy.
  7. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure valuable releases early and often; solving complex business or functional problems and coordinating work as necessary.
  8. Provide ongoing communication to stakeholders on progress, expectation management and to remove impediments.
  9. Support project portfolio delivery leverage best-in-class product management and agile methods that deliver products on time, on budget, on quality, at a high-velocity cadence.
  10. Foster a team environment that is open, informed and empowered, in order to continually improve effectiveness and deliver value to the business.
  11. Determine, monitor, and review product management practices, including costs, supply & demand of staffing requirements, and risk, ensuring that there are appropriate and effective governance arrangements, supported by appropriate reporting.

  13. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding LGA, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgement regarding behavior, conduct, and practices. Escalate, manage, and report control issues with transparency and create accountability where appropriate.
  14. Assist in all matters with regards to the management of employees, ensuring that management discretion is used in a consistent manner. In coordination with the Head of Product, set team performance, create annual program goals, facilitate achievement of the same goals, and provide performance feedback for a team size of 10+ people comprised of Product Managers, Product Owners, and Business Analysts.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/experience in IT/business management
  • MBA/Advanced degree in business, leadership, finance, and/or business management preferred
  • Scrum Product Owner certification (CSPO), Scaled Agile Framework certification, or equivalent

Experience/Knowledge

  • 5+ years of leadership role experience
  • 10+ years of product owner / product management experience
  • 10+ years of people management experience
  • 10+ years of financial services / life insurance industry experience
  • 15+ years of professional experience with background in business analysis or business subject matter expertise

  • Delivery against product roadmaps aligning design with need
  • Strong sense of urgency

  • Direct experience with operational processes, data analysis, and business case development

What’s in it for you?

The expected hiring compensation range for this position is $147,700 – $214,150 annually.

The total compensation package for this position may include other elements, such as a sign-on bonus, long term incentives, and annual bonuses. This role is eligible to participate in the Legal & General America Annual Incentive Plan. The current target payment for the position is 20% of base salary, modified for corporate and individual performance. Bonuses are pro-rated based on start date. This role has 20 vacation days and 10 sick days that are accrued on a bi-weekly basis. Employees also have 9 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
