The Product Management team drives the development of product definition and planning to optimize the company’s products and solutions. The team applies broad knowledge of company’s product and solutions capabilities as well as the competitive environment to identify new growth areas, new technology and emerging product opportunities. Oversees the analysis and evaluation of key market statistics and customer requirements to define product strategies and identify product opportunities to expand market share. The Product Management team also evaluates in-depth market analysis and leads business case development for optimization of existing products and solutions alternatives and/or to create the next generation of new products. Collaborates with research and development to create products and validate early product definitions. This role is both strategic and technical in nature and requires extensive industry experience in Workforce Management.

The Director, Product Management is responsible for the growth rate and success of existing and new products and solutions as well as developing the overall product growth strategy for a particular business segment and/or product and solutions portfolio. In addition, the Director, Product Management sets revenue and gross margin goals for the product/solution. As the leader of this segment, you must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the ability to drive execution and mission to reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand problems and challenges, and consider and develop innovative solutions for the broader market, while serving as a subject matter expert for all things Workforce Management including Time & Labor, Absence Management, Scheduling, Labor Law Compliance, and Forecasting

Responsibilities:

  • The Director, Product Management ensures that his/her organization is responsible for the driving the net revenue, ARR, and market share % growth rate while successfully launching new B2B SaaS solutions to market
  • Develops overall product strategy and vision with strong experience in Workforce Management products including Time & Labor, Absence Management, Scheduling, Labor Law Compliance, and Forecasting
  • Owns the definition of complex features and enhancements that have cross domain/functional dependencies throughout the development process
  • Manages a product backlog that aligns with specifications and requirements obtained from customers, channel partners, internal stakeholders (e.g. Sales, PreSales, Customer Success), market research and system integrators/implementations by proactively capturing product suggestions and ideas
  • Writes user stories and documents conditions for acceptance criteria in partnership with UX Designers, Developers, and QA while providing a focal point for core requirements via Productboard to which new ideas may be directed to Engineering to determine feasibility
  • Leads and guides the UX and engineering teams to ensure successful delivery to the provided specifications via roadmaps, requirements prioritization, and backlog grooming
  • Researches competitive analysis and market research; generates UX/UI design concepts for new product ideas, or significant improvements to existing products that drives differentiation and market appeal.
  • Interfaces with engineering and emerging technology teams to determine feasibility, cost and development estimates for generating ROI analysis
  • Oversees collaboration with product marketing, operations, accounting, marketing management and other internal personnel in the development of pricing and cost recommendations. Oversees the development of product forecasts for use in sales forecasts, product planning and operations
  • Partners with appropriate support organizations in the development and implementation of product demonstration, training programs, collateral and digital content
  • Mentors, guides and coaches Product Managers and/or Engineers in order to develop and evolve capabilities
  • Collaborates with Product Marketing and Marketing Communications in developing product evangelism programs (advertising, PR, trade shows, etc.) and for insuring that positioning and factual content are correct, and that timing for release of promotional materials fits with the product launch schedule to drive lead generation and pipeline growth
  • Serve as a SME within the workforce management area and establish strong positive relationships with customers, partners, and sales to ensure effective client management and product market success
  • Travel as needed to visit customers, partners, attend seminars, trade shows or meet internal teams for product development collaboration sessions

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 15+ years related experience, including 5+ years managing a Product Management group/function in full life-cycle product management
  • Proficient in enterprise product management and/or relevant consulting or business analysis work experience
  • Proven ability to drive the capture of customer and partner requirements to ensure product specifications will meet the needs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong ability to interact with customers
  • Strong communication skills including written, verbal and oral presentation skills as well as ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management, managers, clients and customers
  • Ability to assess complex market landscape and create focused, integrated product and solutions plan

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Attention to detail, and strong understanding of complex products, solutions and systems
  • Executive understanding of financial concepts including P&L, balances sheets, and ROI models with delivery of product through defined objectives
  • Multi-task and manage complex programs
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft business applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Advanced market knowledge in assigned vertical, category or product line
  • Highly creative with ability to think strategically and develop strategic/business plans
  • The successful candidate will be a self-starter; this individual must be adaptable, persuasive, tenacious and perceptive and be able to execute a well-developed plan
  • Extensive travel required to support a global product and solutions organization

Salary: USD 165700.00 – USD 248500.00 Yearly

Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
Additionally, all Zebra roles are eligible for cash incentive programs. For example, sales roles have additional opportunity to earn substantial variable compensation tied to quota achievement.
