We are excited to bring on a Director of Strategic Programs – Claims Modernization to join our Workplace Solutions Claims & Operations Team.

As a Director of Strategic Programs Management, you will be providing leadership and direction to develop and drive the implementation of future state goals and objectives with proven project/program management tools, practices, and methodologies. As we continue to pursue our strategic objectives of delivering quality, reliable services while also transforming the way we work and investing in technology, we are embarking on a journey to improve the customer experience by modernizing the tools and technology our Claims teams use every day. This mission-critical role will serve as the business leader to strategize and execute on our roadmap in close collaboration with our IT and Transformation partners. What you’ll be doing
- You will lead a vital team in an environment that is constantly changing by empowering them to proactively challenge what they do each day. Provide training and development opportunities, including stretch assignments, for team members and give honest and open feedback to aid in the development of talent. You will direct and evaluate individual/team performance and takes appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards.
- You will identify and direct the implementation of technology and process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality across the department. You will provide subject matter expertise to the team members and internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments and projects.
- You will coordinate input form leaders across the business area to manage the project portfolio and facilitate integration and alignment of various projects with the overall business unit plan and initiatives. In addition, you will forecast and plan resource requirements and investments for specific initiatives; collaborate with leaders across functional areas to secure and manage resources necessary to maintain a continuous flow and facilitate timely implementation of projects.
- You will collaborate with stakeholders to define requisite reporting; synergy tracking and provide regular updates on progress against business outcomes. In addition, you will direct periodic reviews of achievements/performance vs. business/program objectives.
- You will develop and maintain vendor relationships and delivery where these services have been outsourced to partner companies, overseeing transition of additional services to these partners.
What we’re looking for
Must-have experience (Required):
- 4 Year/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor’s).
- 7+ Years of experience in program/project management and/or working on transformation initiatives directly aligned to the specific responsibilities for this position, including 3+ years of managerial, supervisory, and/or leadership experience.
- Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal/external clients with proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.
- Ability to think critically, analyze information and to evaluate the implications of a course of action or solution.
- Demonstrate strong project management leadership skills including critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure and meeting deadlines.
- Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills, especially as it relates to change management and stakeholder engagement.
- An ability to maintain a broad, strategic, end-to-end view of the business and our customers while also being able to narrow focus with a keen eye for details.
Nice-to-have experience (Preferred):
- Project Management experience, including experience with Agile practices, process mapping and documentation, and requirements documentation/delivery.
- Group insurance experience, including our products, services, processes, and customers – especially knowledge of existing LFG Group Protection Claims systems, tools, and technologies.
- Ability to perform quantitative analysis to make data-driven decisions.

Pay Range: $87,700 – $159,900
Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
