Now Brewing – director, Transformation Communications
From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. We are known for developing extraordinary leaders who share this passion and are guided by their service to others.
The director, Transformation Communications is responsible for creating and leading the engagement drumbeat of internal communications to provide strategic alignment on company-wide transformation priorities. This leader will shape and deliver communication plans, strategies, and narratives to promote understanding of transformation strategy and priorities, creating connective tissue across the organization.
In a highly collaborative environment, this role will work across functions and job levels (including senior leaders) to develop and promote key narratives to partners (employees), and will liaise closely with their peers in PRO, Marketing and Partner Product to drive overarching messaging, measurement, KPIs and goals. This role will also serve as a leader across the Public Affairs organization to integrate both enterprise transformation work and partner brand narratives into the broader Public Affairs ecosystem.
As director, Transformation Communications, you will:
• Work closely as a trusted expert with senior leaders to identify needs, define strategy, develop action plans, identify deliverables, present results, measure outcomes and provide recommendations.
• Create and effectively execute communications plans and change management initiatives that have enterprise impact.
• Develop and implement both reactive and proactive communication strategies and plans and rapid-response support to leaders in a fast-paced, highly visible environment.
We’d love to hear from people with:
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, proven track record of building strong collaborative relationships with senior stakeholders
• Demonstrated track record of leadership and ability to lead and influence; strong partnership skills with a history of collaborating across organizational boundaries, working with and influencing others, and creating clarity from confusion.
• Ability to thrive within an organization with a degree of ambiguity and fast pace; organizational aptitude and ability to multi-task and manage a high-volume, high visibility function.
• Progressive experience providing communications counsel and leading development of effective communications and change management plans for employee audiences.
• 8+ years advanced experience in consulting and working with senior leaders in the design, development and execution of partner communications and engagement and change management.
