Minimum Starting Salary:
Discrimination Investigator I: $23.54 – 30.01 per hour, depending on qualifications
Discrimination Investigator II: $24.86 – 31.70 per hour, depending on qualifications
Nature of Work:
This position performs professional and administrative work conducting complaint intakes and investigating complaints of unlawful discrimination in employment, residential housing, and public accommodations. Responsibilities include conducting complaint intakes, investigating complaints, holding fact finding sessions, counseling, and providing technical assistance, interpreting applicable laws, conducting seminars, workshops, and case law research; and preparing analytical reports. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Human Relations Manager and performance is evaluated through qualitative review of work product and external audits.
Minimum Requirements
Discrimination Investigator I: Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Human Resources/Personnel Administration, Public Administration or related field required, plus six (6) months experience working with Title VII or Title VIII cases required. One (1) year of case management or investigative experience may substitute for the required experience. Experience working with Title VII or Title VIII cases highly preferred.
Discrimination Investigator II: Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Human Resources/Personnel Administration, Public Administration or related field required, plus three (3) years experience investigating Title VII or Title VIII cases required.
ALL LEVELS:
- This position may be required to work and/or participate in community events and Human Relations activity deemed necessary by the Human Relations Manager/Director; this includes hours after 5:00 p.m., weekends and holidays.
VALID DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. VALID FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE.
