POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is located in the Customer Service Administration Bureau, Distributed Systems Administration (DSA) section. This is a full-time position Monday-Friday, that reports directly to the DSA Data Processing Manager. This position requires the ability to upgrade and install hardware and software and resolves users’ problems with computer software and hardware.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and centrally managing enterprise desktop solutions in a local and wide area network environment;
  • Responsible for the installation and configuration of the department’s desktop and laptop systems, agency laptop encryption, mobile phone management, desktop antivirus management, desktop /laptop imaging, and asset management; and
  • Participates in assigned training classes and perform research to improve job knowledge and performance.

To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A high school diploma or its equivalent and three years of experience in computer systems analysis, computer programming or in planning or designing computer systems; or

2. 90 semester hours from an accredited college or university or

3. Any combination of education or experience, as described above, for a total of three years.

4. Completion of a 720-classroom hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or accredited community college in the area of data processing* can substitute for one year of the required education or experience.

5. Completion of a one-year program of study from a vocational/technical school in an area of data processing* can substitute for one year of the required education or experience.

Note: 30 semester hours, or equivalent, of coursework from an accredited college or university is equivalent to one year of experience.
* Data entry excluded in data processing experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of telecommunications principles, equipment, procedures, and terminology;
  • Knowledge of data processing equipment; knowledge of Windows 10 and 11;
  • Knowledge of problem-solving techniques;
  • Knowledge of desktop ticketing solutions;
  • Knowledge of enterprise desktop deployment solutions;
  • Knowledge of information security best practices;
  • Knowledge of computers and software; ability to work in a team environment; ability to process information logically and solve problems;
  • Ability to develop training programs related to distributed processing;
  • Ability to monitor and resolve problems with distributed systems components;
  • Ability to identify and define user task needs; and
  • Ability to communicate effectively; ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.

BASE SALARY:

  • $45,000.00

BACKGROUND:

FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants.
