Job Summary
Typical Hiring Range: $36,000.000 – $40,000.000 annually (salary to be commensurate with qualifications)
This position has an anticipated work schedule of Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm with occasional weekend and evenings during election cycle, subject to change. Under FLSA guidelines, this position is non-exempt.
Performs daily courier deliveries to the offices of the Clerk & Recorder. Prepares, maintains, repairs, delivers, and retrieves computer, voting, and other equipment and supplies. Assists in the maintenance of records and physical inventories of equipment, information stored for archival purposes, and motor vehicle license plates and tabs.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Performs daily courier deliveries of documents, supplies, and equipment to branch offices which are pertinent to operations of the Clerk & Recorder’s Offices as directed. Prepares, delivers, and retrieves computers, voting equipment, and supplies needed to conduct various elections from Voting Service Polling Centers (VSPCs).
- Verifies Motor Vehicle plates and tabs for accuracy.
- Provides basic installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of computers, voting equipment, and other related equipment to comply with County and State standards for security and compatibility; ensures adherence to any applicable Federal, State, County and office requirements.
- Transfers backup video files to an external hard drive during Election season.
- Takes physical inventory to ensure proper stocking and maintains inventory records of equipment, supplies, and information stored for archival purposes; ensures adherence to established procedures and guidelines. Works closely with the Distribution Center staff.
- Assists with repairs or construction of office furniture. Assists in construction and tear-down of computers, voting equipment, and office furniture at VSPCs.
- Assists in coordinating the activities of temporary staff involved in distribution center operations as needed.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by helping to achieve departmental goals.
- Assists in other departments and/or with County-wide events as directed.
- Assists with election duties as required.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of inventory control and maintenance materials and equipment.
- Knowledge and ability to effectively use basic hand tools.
- Ability to operate computers, automated systems, and standard office equipment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred.
- Must be cooperative and flexible as staff may be required to work at any offices location.
- Ability to communicate effectively with County staff, co-workers, vendors, contractors, and the general public.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Required Education and Experience:
- U.S. citizen; registered to vote in Colorado; sworn as agent of Clerk & Recorder’s Office to discharge the duties conveyed by CRS 42-1-210.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- One year of related experience.
Licenses/Certificates:
- Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver’s License.
- Obtain Colorado Election Official Certification from Colorado Secretary of State’s office within 12 to 18 months of employment. Maintain certification as required under Secretary of State’s Rules 19.1.1 – 19.3.4.
- Has or willing to obtain forklift operator certification within 18 months of employment.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Must pass conditional post offer background investigation, motor vehicle record check, drug screen, and physical examination.
Work Conditions
Duties are primarily performed in an office/distribution environment. Vehicle travel required. Must be able to drive various County vehicles for daily courier delivers including large cube van. Saturday hours and/or overtime may be required, especially during election cycles. Work requires physical effort, including standing, reaching, climbing, bending, and lifting/moving items weighing up to 50 lbs.
