Cybersecurity Lead

Seize your opportunity to make a personal impact as a Cybersecurity Lead supporting a major Department of Defense (DoD) customer with global operations. You will be working in a rewarding, mission focused environment providing cybersecurity and Information Assurance (IA) services to ensure the security of the unclassified and classified enterprise in a hybrid, multi-cloud architecture. Your efforts will help ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the customer’s unclassified and classified hybrid, multi-cloud environments. You will also support risk management activities and threat assessments and ensure compliance with NIST 800-53 and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes. HOW A CYBERSECURITY LEAD WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Plan, direct, and manage day-to-day activities of the cybersecurity team
  • Prepare and maintain artifacts required to support RMF packages
  • Perform coordination and reporting actions between cybersecurity services and the customer’s network operations center
  • Provide basic cybersecurity troubleshooting services, including Host Based Security System (HBSS), ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO), and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)
  • Facilitate security meetings and report in IA status
  • Implement a vulnerability management plan
  • Support customer strategic planning to build and mature cybersecurity operations capabilities
  • Lead vulnerability remediation efforts and technical analysis of incidents
  • Create status reports and briefings
  • Assume responsibility for cybersecurity projects and provide input and status to the program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
  • Represent the GDIT team in providing solutions to complex cybersecurity problems
  • Propose upgrades or new hardware and software items to current cybersecurity tools
  • Support internal and external audits, pen testing, red team testing and other security reviews
  • Participate in customer-led cybersecurity working groups

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Minimum Top Secret/SCI clearance. [SSBI/T5].
  • Ten (10+) years of applicable work experience in cybersecurity
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
  • DoDD 8140 (formerly DoD 8570.01-M) IAM Level III certification
  • Experience with NIST 800-53 and DoD RMF processes
  • Familiarity with securing networks and applications in cloud environments, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and with teammates and stakeholders
  • Experience providing cybersecurity and IA services to DoD organizations in the NIPRNET and SIPRNET environments.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and privacy principles (on-premises and cloud)
  • Knowledge of cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques
  • Ability to analyze new cyber attacks and provide guidance to the cybersecurity and operations teams on detection and response actions
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Level III certification (IAM Level III, CISSP), as defined in DoD 8570.01-M

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience planning, directing, and managing a security operations center (SOC)
  • Experience developing and leading a high-performing, geographically dispersed cybersecurity team
  • Deep technical understanding of cybersecurity threats, attack vectors, and methods of exploitation as well as remediation techniques
  • Advanced knowledge of security strategies, including Zero Trust
  • ITILv3/4 Foundation
  • One or more cybersecurity-related technology certifications

The likely salary range for this position is $106,371 – $177,632, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
