DMM, Accessories, Shopbop

Shopbop is looking for a seasoned, results-oriented Divisional Merchandise Manager (DMM) with an entrepreneurial spirit to lead the Shopbop accessories business. The DMM will use relevant industry experience and relationships to expand the business through category strategies. This individual will also develop a team of buyers in their buying and negotiating skills, as well as reacting to industry trends and competitor maneuvering.

The successful candidate will be a high-energy self-starter with strong business judgment, acute analytical skills, and preferably strong relationships in the women’s footwear/handbag/accessories market segments, and will have the demonstrated ability to use creative thinking and innovation to solve complex problems. The DMM will thrive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment and will have a track record of successful negotiation and overall relationship building and management. Expectations of the role include not only applying management and analytical skills to our accessories business, but also to broader projects and systems revisions to help the organization properly scale with its growth.

Proven leadership and buying skills are a must, as is experience in assortment planning, in-season management, vendor negotiations, co-op management, and forging new brand relationships.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 8+ years of relevant experience in retail or e-commerce buying
• Proven negotiation skills and vendor-management experience
• Strong numeric and analytic aptitude
• Strong understanding of and keen interest in the fashion industry
• Technical aptitude with web-based tools and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• College degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of and drive business performance
• Demonstrated ability to identify and capitalize on current trends
• Prior experience managing a team of buyers
• Experience influencing buyers in the development and execution of strategies and growth plans
• Comprehensive knowledge of the vendors that make up the women’s footwear, handbag and accessory market segments.
• Experience working on cross-functional teams to drive internal process and strategy improvement
• High level of professionalism and positive, forward-thinking, team-oriented attitude
• Solid organizational and time-management skills and a demonstrated ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $123,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
