This position works in Tallahassee as an Operations and Management Consultant II – SES
This is a professional position in the Office of Inspector General responsible for conducting audits, management reviews, and consulting services for the Department of Education, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR). This individual will review, analyze, and evaluate the adequacy of DVR programs, systems, and controls to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations. This includes the development of audit programs, work papers, and reports in compliance with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, or where applicable, generally accepted government auditing standards. Some travel may be required.
To be considered as a potential applicant, you must possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a major in Accounting, Finance, Public/Business Administration or another related business field and two years of professional experience in auditing, systems analysis, management analysis, or program evaluation. A Master’s degree can substitute for one year of the required experience. Preference will be given to applicants who have a minimum of four years of professional experience conducting audits or similar reviews and those who possess a CIA, CISA, CPA, or similar certification.

Anticipated Salary Range: $45,000 – $55,000 commensurate with experience, qualifications, and salary history. Employment is contingent upon the results of a background investigation.
Duties and Responsibilities
This is analytical work involving an objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve DVR operations. This work helps DVR accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of management, control, and governance processes.
The employee must be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities, and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance sometimes under stressful conditions. The employee must interact courteously with others. The employee’s performance and behavior must demonstrate consideration of the workload concerns of others and must not negatively affect productivity and morale of the unit.
The employee shall also complete any other duties, as assigned.
