Domestic Violence Services Coordinator

The mission of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children, and individuals throughout Colorado. The Coalition advocates for and provides a continuum of housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well-being, and stability of those it serves.

The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless seeks a Domestic Violence Program Coordinator to provide direct services to and advocacy for victims of domestic violence within Colorado Coalition for the Homeless (CCH). The Coordinator will provide assessments of adult victims of domestic violence and assess the impact of domestic violence on children and the family unit, as well as provide direct case management for a limited caseload. The position will also coordinate services for adults and children and make referrals to both internal FSS staff, and external Partner Organizations. The position will serve as one of two project coordinators between CCH and Partner Organizations. Will also collect and maintain data for project reporting and provide training and consultation to other CCH staff. This position is located at 2100 Broadway., Denver, Colorado 80205and reports to the Program Manager.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Serves as a project coordinator between CCH and Partner Organizations.
  2. Schedules meetings with partner organizations at least twice a year to evaluate the progress of the project and make any necessary adjustments.
  3. Collects and maintains data for project reporting.
  4. Provides case management services to a limited caseload of clients experiencing domestic violence.
  5. Advocates on behalf of victims of domestic violence participating in transitional housing.
  6. Provides direct services for victims of domestic violence participating in CCH transitional housing to include safety planning, assessments, and counseling.
  7. Provides assessments of adult victims of domestic violence and assesses the impact of domestic violence on children and the family unit.
  8. Delivers services to the required number of adults and children in accordance with grant requirements, managing a minimum of 5 cases with moderate to severe domestic violence issues.
  9. Refers and coordinates services for adults and children to both internal FSS staff and external Partner Organizations.
  10. Provides both in-home and on-site direct services related to domestic violence issues.
  11. During normal business hours, provides emergency intervention for clients suffering domestic violence-related issues.
  12. Provides training and consultation to other CCH staff members
  13. Maintains the highest standard of client confidentiality and ethical behavior as dictated by CCH policy and/or specific professional governing board.
  14. Completes paperwork in an accurate and timely manner, attends regular FSS meetings, and attends professional trainings as required by CVS to increase knowledge and skill in working with FSS clients, continues to research and apply for grant funding to increase the services offered in the domestic violence program.
  15. Core competency in HMIS and including 95% completeness and core competency in EHR medical record system as directed.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Summary

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or equivalent field strongly preferred.
  2. Previous experience and sensitivity working with victims of domestic violence strongly preferred.
  3. Bi-lingual Spanish preferred.
  4. Previous experience and sensitivity working with low-income or homeless families preferred.
