Drafter/Permitter

Project Resources Group is currently searching for a CAD Drafter/Permitter in the El Paso, Texas market. Candidate will be responsible for the oversight, submission, and successful approval of all OSP Permit Design packages, covering all permits associated with a multitude of work scopes.

Essential Functions

In this role, your primary position responsibilities will include:

  • Review, coordinate, process, and verify compliance with rules, regulations, and legal requirements applicable for all permits required from approving agencies for the placement and installation of fiber optic cable networks.
  • Prepare and submit all required permit applications and associated documents to approving agencies.
  • Gather as-built, field notes, survey data, and aerial imagery to create drawings.
  • Create permit submittal packages including map, kmz, and make ready.
  • Follows, interprets, and applies NESC standards.
  • Other related duties as requested.

Experience:

  • An Associate of Applied Science degree (AAS) in Design and Drafting Technology or equivalent prior work experience.
  • Experience creating plan and profile drawings utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Ability to read and understand telecommunication plans.
  • Two (2) years previous experience working for a telecommunication, utility, construction, engineering, or electrical company.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of AutoCAD experience.
  • Proficient in make-ready engineering for joint use pole attachment permits.
  • Experience with SPIDAMin a plus.

Skills and abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate and write effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
