Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director or Director, Driver/Deliverer is responsible for but not limited to meal delivery and vehicle maintenance. Core responsibilities are as follows:

  • Perform packing of home-delivered meals and meal delivery.
  • Drive to designated client destination, deliver meals to homebound participants, and report any difficulty with meals delivery or change in client’s status, i.e. (vacation, clinic, appointments, hospitalization, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate daily log of meals delivered and contributions collected, and assist in scheduling meal delivery to minimize time and distance between delivery points.
  • Move unpacked and stored food and supplies as required
  • Deliver program material and information to homebound clients
  • Deliver supplies and paper goods to other agency programs and subcontractors
  • Drop off and pick up interoffice mail, and will pick up and deliver congregate meals to other programs when necessary.
  • Perform vehicular maintenance, keep the vehicle clean and in good operating condition, inspect the vehicle daily and report any operational or structural defects immediately to the Fleet Coordinator and/or supervisor.
  • Maintain daily gasoline and mileage records, including vehicle report log recording all maintenance and repairs for submission to program management.
  • Pick up and return vehicle to garage or to parking place daily.
  • Drive safely at all times; report any accidents or incidents to supervisor and police.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by program management.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

  • Some High School coursework; High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • A valid New York State Drivers License-Class D or C
