Senior Healthcare Analytics Lead (CMH Health)

Milliman is seeking a technically savvy, analytically strong Senior Healthcare Analytics Lead to manage analytics and technology projects as well as coach and mentor junior analytical staff. Job Responsibilities

  • Manage analytics and technology consulting projects, engagements, and research efforts
  • Communicate and coordinate amongst Milliman Consultants, project staff, and our clients to meet milestones and timelines
  • Contribute to technical deliverables using analytics software (for example, SAS, SQL, R, Excel, etc.)
  • Delegate to, coach, and mentor junior analytical staff, including data engineers, analysts, and actuaries
  • Take ownership of project deadlines and deliverables
  • Design and develop a modeling approach to actuarial problems by utilizing large health claim datasets
  • Oversee and/or perform Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) tasks on healthcare data, including intake, manipulation, and quality assessment of enrollment, medical claims, and pharmacy claims
  • Develop analytical and project roadmaps, planning out the “data to deliverable” runway and identifying potential roadblocks ahead of time
  • Participate in client meetings, including occasional travel to client sites
  • Identify and meet confidentiality, data security, and incident response obligations based on laws, regulations, policies, grants, contracts, binding commitment (e.g.- data use, participant consent, and confidentiality agreements), Institutional Review Board, and other organization and external requirements relating to data used

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Math, Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, or related degree is preferred)
  • 6+ years of health data analytics or similar experience
  • Advanced proficiency using SAS, Python, R, or other programming languages
  • Advanced proficiency using Excel
  • Basic proficiency using Tableau or PowerBI
  • Able to interpret, scrub, process, explain, and teach others healthcare claims data

  • Proficiency in database architecture, healthcare and pharmacy claims data, and CMS data sets
  • Payer healthcare claim data experience, eligibility data and healthcare industry knowledge

The Senior Healthcare Analytics Lead will also join a mix of Healthcare Analysts, Leads, Consultants, and Principals. In addition, as part of the broader Milliman landscape, they will work alongside Healthcare Actuaries, Pharmacists, Clinicians, and Physicians. Salary: The salary range is $80,000 to $125,000, depending on a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.

Location: It is preferred that candidates work on-site at our Chicago, IL, Milwaukee, WI, or Hartford, CT office. Remote candidates will be considered.
