Driver – Water Truck

Drives commercial vehicles equipped to transport water from the job site to the yard as well as assists the crew.

Pay: $26-$30 per hour DOE

Essential Functions:

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for safely hauling equipment and material to jobsites and facilities
  • Identifies equipment and materials to ensure correct product is being hauled
  • communicates with the use of smart devices with supervisors and crews
  • Works safely around backhoes, excavators, trenchers and other industry equipment
  • Utilizes defensive driving practices
  • Adheres to safety policies
  • Maintains a sense of urgency throughout the da to safely and efficiently deliver product
  • Maintains equipment by conducting the proper pre-trip and post-trip inspections and mechanical write-ups, communicating abnormalities with the appropriate parties
  • Operates the truck and other types of equipment according to the manufacturers recommended guidelines
  • Maintains a positive attitude in all interactions with customers and collogues
  • Maintains truck in a consistently clean condition
  • Operates truck in a manner that ensures compliance with all applicable company, state, and federal safety regulations
  • Follows required company and DOT reporting procedures
  • Maintains paperwork during the day including DVIR and driver’s log book
  • Ensures the truck has current licenses, tags, permits, and proof of insurance
  • Reports for work at the scheduled time and place
  • Travel is required up to 50% or f the time

Success Factors:

  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift
  • Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling
  • Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions
  • Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers
  • Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy
  • English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports
  • Willingness and ability to learn additional skills

Experience and Education:

  • One (1+) plus years experience working in construction.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year to year basis.
  • A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A required
  • Candidates must pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR check, a Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated physical as a requirement of the job and pass a pre-employment drug screen

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Possession of a valid State of Residence Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) is required.
  • Tanker Endorsement is required
  • Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
