Job Description

E! News Digital is seeking a creative, self-motivated, full-time team digital video editor to support the Originals Team.

The role will focus on posting multi-platform digital original series primed for audience acquisition, video views, and revenue. The Editor, Originals will be responsible for bringing the E! News brand to life digitally: ideating and experimenting with graphics, music, pacing, and other post-production considerations to create premium original video series under tight deadlines.

The ideal candidate should be proactive, extremely organized, and dedicated to creating best-in-class content under the E! News Digital brand. The ideal candidate must be a digital pro who knows how to create content that resonates for multiple audiences across multiple platforms. The ability to interpret timely notes from producers, take creative ownership over projects in post, as well as collaborate with the Originals Team will be required. This role will report to the Director, Originals.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Edit video for an array of video platforms utilized by the E! News Digital team including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.
  • Skilled at creating and editing stand-out digital video content, including sizzles, proofs of concept, pilots and series, that may be short form for social or be longer in format at 10+ minutes.
  • Skilled communication and professional presence when supporting the other producer/editors.
  • Ability to clearly articulate editing decisions.
  • Ability to problem solve and find solutions to creative challenges.
  • Strong organizational skills to keep producers up to date with ongoing projects and timelines.
  • Ability to multitask multiple edits based on the deadlines presented.
  • Smart, creative decision making.
  • Pitching new original content ideas.
  • Develop graphics packages with graphics artists, utilize music libraries, work with DP’s on framing and shooting style, etc. to create a clear brand tone on franchises.
  • Ensure compliance with company guidelines, including deadlines, legal practices, confidentiality, and design standards.
  • Willingness to go above and beyond and work occasional nights and weekends.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • 4+ years professional experience as an editor with demonstrated ability to create end-to-end original digital video content that is adaptable to multiple social and digital video platforms.
  • 2+ years professional experience of using post-production video and graphic editing software in Adobe Suite such as Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.
  • 2+ years professional experience audio mixing, sound design, and color correction.
  • Skilled project manager who can effectively communicate with other producers, DP’s / production crew, editors, and graphics artists.
  • Must be able to work under extremely tight deadlines.

  • Accountability for the projects they are editing.
  • Strong understanding of digital production trends and how to utilize them to optimize our series.
  • Dependable, collaborative, and proactive team player with strong communication skills and a love for what they’re creating.

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Salary range: $90,000-$120,000
