Role Overview:
Agency Communications helps to drive and support Agency’s business strategies, goals, and objectives — while also fostering awareness and appreciation of our rich history and unique Nylic culture — through the use of compelling storytelling and key messages delivered to our 12,000+ agents and field managers through a variety of print and digital media. This is a highly interactive position for a communications professional who posesses excellent writing/editing/administrative skills. This individual will support the team responsible for our internal (field based) magazine and website; work on a variety of leadership/recognition communications; and work independently on projects that support and promote New York Life culture and larger strategic themes.
Major Responsibilities:
- Write/edit and help produce a variety of editorial publications and storytelling projects (e.g., web pages; print and web articles; speeches; correspondence; PowerPoint decks, etc.) including assisting with web publishing and possible podcast productions
- Conduct research, interviews, and fact checking relating to projects
- Create timelines/calendars, plans (in Word, Excel, or Adobe workflow software) and implement on administative details/tasks relating to communications projects
- Convey layout needs and suggest visual elements to photographers and designers, as needed, to ensure a powerful appearance where appropriate
- Participate in strategic brainstorming around relevant themes, insights as to how Gen AI can support future efforts, and creative ways to drive messaging while bring storytelling skills to editorial projects
- Provide overall logistical support for the team, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, History or comparable is preferred
- Emphasis on journalism or writing a huge plus
- 3-5 years experience
- Writing/editing as well as research/proofreading/fact checking – using Style Guide and other resources to check and credit sources
- Microsoft office proficiency (Word, PPT, Excel)
- Creation of project calendars and schedules (detail oriented) using Word, Excel, Adobe or other workflow software
- Ability to think creatively and strategically, and juggle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
- Web coding experience and/or ability to travel on occasion (1-2x/year) to support offsite meetings a huge plus – as is experience in Adobe Premier, After Effects, PS.
Salary range: $72,500-$107,500
Overtime eligible: Exempt
