Responsibilities

The Education Customer Service Specialist is responsible for the Siebens 7 Welcome Desk on campus and effectively communicating with customers, faculty and learners to provide guidance for general Education-shield questions such as Financial Aid, Student Wellness, registration, as well as others. Provides solutions specific to Education Shield inquiries or directs customers to the correct departmental contact. Collaborates with other Education staff and resources. The position is responsible to ensure accurate, consistent and timely delivery of information to all customer and learner types including current and former students, potential students, faculty, physicians and allied health staff. Accountable to investigate, summarize and document discussion and outcome of each phone call or face to face customer interaction. Maintain high knowledge of Education functions and processes. Participation expected on various committees. Required to participate in ongoing training. Required to maintain confidentiality of information.

This position can either be part-time (40 hours per pay period) or full-time (80 hours per pay period). Please indicate on your cover letter your preference of part-time or full-time.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and/or Experience Required:

Bachelor’s Degree with one year experience in or customer service field. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a high school diploma/GED equivalent with five years customer service experience or associate degree with three years’ experience in customer service field will be accepted.

Additional Experience and/or Qualifications:

Critical Competencies: Ability to use a systematic approach while solving problems through independent analysis of problem and evaluation of alternative solutions. Maintain expertise in all Education policies. Ability to develop and present small and large groups. Excellent interpersonal skills to promote a positive working environment. Strong customer service orientation.
