As a EHR Clinic Support Managerwithin theOffice of Public Health Informaticsat the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.
Job Responsibilities

  • Assists colleagues at the state or district level in understanding clinical applications for the EHR system.
  • Assist districts in developing workflows, data flows, operational practices, and training plans for staff.
  • Serve as a broad clinical subject matter expert for EHR implementation at a facility level.
  • Provide EHR-related support staff with guidance and support to effectively manage and support the efficient delivery of public health services at the District/county level.
  • Work closely with local district management and staff to understand and support their needs.
  • Monitor and collaborate with district to understand clinical application to track and communicate effectiveness, efficiency, and value of public health services delivery.
  • Collaborate with district health care providers (such as primary care physician, mental health workers, nurses) to ensure that full EHR functionality and benefits are equitably available to all Georgians.
  • Perform data/systems analysis and provide analytical insights and direction on program development.
  • Participates in the EHR user and training groups to learn more about the product to guarantee the agency is functioning at the highest level possible with the utilization of the record.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating education and training plans about the EHR.
  • Oversee EHR specialists hired in support of EHR implementation.

Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate degree in a related filed from an accredited college or university AND Three years of management/supervisory experience in health care services OR Two years at the lower level or position equivalent (HCM012)
ORMaster’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Four years of management/supervisory experience in health care services
OR
Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Five years of management/supervisory experience in health care services.

Note: Some positions may require certification and/or licensure.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent project management skills, including managing multiple projects.
  • Highly adaptable to changing situations.
  • Prior clinical experience with EHR system design, development, and/or implementation.
  • EHR certification.
  • Direct clinical care or nursing experience.
  • Demonstrable competency in contract/vendor oversight and management, business analysis, technology implementation, change management, budget management, partner relationships, problem solving, project management, training, technical support, teamwork, compliance, quality control, analytics and reporting.
