Position Summary
As an Electrical & Automation Technician, you’ll be responsible for the daily electrical, PLC, drives, and power distribution for half of the plant daily and at times the entire factory, preventative maintenance, and electrical support for capital and extraordinary projects. In this role, you’ll also handle:
- Maintaining equipment logs and reports utilizing computerized maintenance systems
- Calibration of scales, flow meters, and RTDs
- Troubleshooting electrical issues with electrical testing devices, such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
- Installation and removal of equipment
- Update prints to reflect wiring changes
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in an industrial electrical technical field or electrical Industrial or E&I Journeyman is preferred or 3 years of Industrial electrical and automation experience in lieu of education or E& I Journeyman
- Highly skilled electrical troubleshooting of plc’s, servo’s, and safety relays for bad components or faulty wiring.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to interpret and comprehend technical literature and print documentation (European, American, Italian)
- Working knowledge of switchboards, MCC’s, panel boards, control cabinets.
- Must be able to work in hot and cold environments
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs frequently and work from heights
- Excellent time management, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Basic computer skills
The ideal candidate will have the ability to:
- Understand documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Write routine repots and correspondence
- Utilize a computer (laptop/desktop) to troubleshoot and repair faulty networked components
- Computer Skills including familiarity with: Electrical Software, Outlook, Excel, Word, SAP, and SharePoint
- Speak effectively before groups of customers or fellow teammates
- Abide by all plant rules/policies including safety, GMP regulations and perform good housekeeping practices
- Must be able to work in a team-based environment
- Strong time management skills
- Minimum of 1 year of industrial electrical maintenance experience
- Prior food manufacturing experience is preferred
