Summary
Coordinate construction projects in Electric Distribution.
Essential Functions
- Design, prepare, and issue cost estimates, drawings, and specifications for major projects;
- Interact with customers, contractors, and consultants to answer questions, resolve conflicts, develop design solutions; select, size, and specify electrical materials and equipment, including non-standard equipment;
- Monitor, forecast and procure materials and equipment;
- Creation and maintenance of specifications;
- Perform outage restoration during emergency call-out;
- Simultaneously coordinate multiple large projects;
- Work with other departments, utilities and consultants to complete major tasks;
- Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications
Completion of an associate degree in engineering technology or a related field with an additional twelve or more years of experience in electric utility construction or estimating, including supervisory experience; or any combination of relevant education and experience which provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills:

Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- The principles and procedures of electric utility construction and estimating.
- Basic computer operation;
- The principles and procedures of electric utility operations and loads;
- Advances knowledge of entire utility system in order to perform restoration during emergence call-out.
Ability to:
- Supervise the work of others.
- Communicate effectively with others.
- Prepare engineering drawings and construction cost estimates.
- Analyze, select and specify electric equipment and components.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently stand and walk during the shift;
- Occasionally climb stairs, ladders, and inclined surfaces;
- Frequently bend during the shift;
- Frequently kneel during the shift;
- Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds;
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds;
- Frequently push and pull objects;
- Frequently flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially at the knees;
- Frequently rotate upper trunk to the right or left while sitting or standing;
- Place arms above, at, and below shoulder height;
- Coordinate eye, hand, and foot movement in order to operate a vehicle.
