Electrical Senior Project Engineer – Renewable Energy (Traveler)

The Electrical Project Senior Engineer – Renewable Energy position expands on the fundamentals learned as a Project Engineer. This position will incorporate the opportunity to manage larger scopes of work and employees. On a daily basis you will be responsible for the coordination between McCarthy employees, owners, subcontractors, architects and engineers.

This is a full-time, site-based position that requires extensive travel to locations that span the continental U.S. Travel subsistence and additional incentives provided per company guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • General Contract and Subcontract administration
  • Monitor/document jobsite safety and accident prevention
  • Construction scheduling
  • Procurement and expediting of material and equipment
  • Mechanical, electrical, and piping systems coordination
  • Shop drawing/submittal review and coordination
  • Project cost review, reporting, updating, and accounting
  • Labor unit tacking and identification of areas of improvement
  • Review of subcontractor and supplier applications for payment
  • Participation in/documentation of project coordination meetings
  • Supervision/coordination of McCarthy craft field installations
  • Supervision/coordination of subcontractors’ field installations
  • Review/negotiate change proposal pricing from subcontractors and prepare change proposal pricing for self-performed work
  • Change order documentation and associated cost reporting and maintenance
  • Research and suggest options on construction means, methods and equipment
  • Maintenance of As-Built plans
  • Quality control and project closeout
  • Implement all applicable safety and EEO/Affirmative Action programs on project

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree
  • 2+ years’ experience working in electrical construction
  • General knowledge of construction principles/practices required
  • Must be willing/able to travel extensively to remote renewable energy or electrical self-perform projects across the United States
  • Strong work ethic and desire to work in a team environment

For California locations only, the salary range for this position is: $89,300 – $106,200. This does not include possible bonus and other benefits which can impact total compensation. Compensation offered may vary based on work location, experience, qualifications, specialty, training, and market and business considerations, among other factors.

For Colorado locations only, In accordance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB19-085), we are including McCarthy’s good-faith and reasonable estimate of a range of entry level base compensation at the time of the posting. This does not include possible bonus and other benefits which can impact total compensation. Given the dynamic nature of the large-scale commercial construction industry, a candidate’s project portfolio and background can change the role and compensation for which that candidate might be qualified. The title and pay range for this role could change based on candidate qualifications and experience. Pay Range: $78,800 – $88,500.
