This position necessitates the installation, maintenance, repair, revamping, calibration, troubleshooting, and testing of the various types of electrical devices associated with steam, chilled water, and electrical generation for CPE, satellite, and contract sites, and the utility distribution system. The High Voltage Electrician will also provide pertinent information and logs concerning repairs, tests, and modifications, and perform related duties as assigned. This position reports directly to the Senior Electrical and IC Supervisor.
What you’ll do:
- Installation, examination, renovation, adjusting, diagnosing, and preserving the Plant’s main electrical equipment, such as motors, generators, transformers, automatic transfer switches, voltage regulators, variable frequency drives, UPS and battery systems, electronic revenue metering, fire alarm, and communication systems, electromechanical protective relays, programmable protective relays, and PLCs
- Gathering technical data, creating observation reports for diagnostics, and maintaining machinery records
- Capable, informed, and skilled with Low and Medium Voltage three section systems consisting of 480V, 2400V, 4160V, and 13,800V
- Prepares technical records and system statement reviews necessary for proper diagnostic paintings and equipment history information
- Performs required maintenance and changes to plant lighting and electric gadget associated with HVAC systems
- Able to analyze technical drawings, manuals, and files as well as determine and obtain the parts and supplies from inventory as required to carry out maintenance, preservation, and overhaul work; prepare stockroom requisitions
- Accountable for preserving work areas and shop facilities clean, orderly, safe, and secure
- Required to study and comply with all standard safety codes and practices and perform work in accordance with recognized trade and Company standards and, where applicable, local, state, and federal laws
- Must participate in mandatory training and other programs
What you bring:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum three (3) years experience as a Journeyman/Master Electrician
Maryland Journeyman’s Electricians License – Required
Competent, knowledgeable, and experienced with Low and Medium Voltage 3 phase systems such as 480V, 2400V, 4160V and 13,800V
Requires individual with a high degree of professionalism; capacity to work properly independently, and efficiently with others
A successful candidate may be detail-oriented, capable of taking direction and managing multiple responsibilities, prioritize work effectively, oversee tasks and assignments to completion
A willingness to acquire new competencies and utilize technology to streamline procedures and solutions is critical.
For this role, you have to have proof of eligibility to work inside the U.S. There is no employer sponsorship of U.S. residency or work authorization with this position.
Proficiency in Lock-out/Tag-out electronic Tag system (LOTO ETS) programs is essential.
The ability to obtain a robust knowledge and manage effective utilization of the company’s computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), MAXIMO maintenance system
Expert knowledge in ARC FLASH and NFPA 70E is a plus.

Required to possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record (will they drive a company or personal car)

The pay range for this role is $51,425 -$124,020. The listed salary range represents ENGIE’s good faith estimate for this position and represents the minimum and maximum for new hire salaries across all U.S. locations. An employee’s rate of pay within the range is determined by their work location, and additional factors, including qualifications, relevant experience, and demonstrated performance over time. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range stated above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. This position is eligible for our comprehensive and competitive benefits package and certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses and commissions.
