Senior Electronics Engineer
Contingent upon Contract Award and Government Approval
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Senior Electronics Engineer who will be key in providing support for incidents occurring on vessels in port, in transit, and worldwide and ensure when traveling to support vessels overseas, meet all commercial and military deployment requirements in Newport News, VA.
Job Description:
- Support the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) Software Engineering Center (SEC) Tactical Communications Enabler Branch – Army Watercraft System C5ISR Sustainment Branch (AWS-CSB).
- Support a variety of C5ISR systems and systems integration programs.
- Plan, conducts and directs projects including coordinating the efforts of engineers and technical staff in the performance of assigned tasks and travel.
- Assist in the sustainment of C5ISR assets on Army Watercraft including technical, repair, and sustainment services of C5ISR assets and suites of equipment installed on Army Watercraft System (AWS) vessels and platforms.
- Provide technical consultation to customer.
- Dealing with people; working alone; making judgments and decisions; and directing, controlling, or planning the activity of others.
- Perform corrective and preventive maintenance.
- On Condition Cyclical Maintenance (OCCM) support.
- Operational/specialized support.
- C5ISR equipment installation and maintenance and reconfiguration or removal of equipment.
- Configuration management.
- Provide support to the Government to address reported IRs by phone, email, or on-site.
Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor’s or Associates degree in engineering or technical degree (preferably electrical) with at least 4 years’ experience Or a High School Diploma with at least 10 years’ of experience working with at least 3 of the following: Radars, satellite comminution systems, integrated bridge systems, C5ISR equipment, or GMDSS. (6 years of additional experience can be substituted for the degree requirement.)
- Must have previous experience supporting Army Watercraft System C5ISR Sustainment Branch (AWS-CSB).
- Must have experience pertaining to the C5ISR assets installed on Army Vessels/Platforms.
- Must be detailed-oriented and have good oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to multiple-task simultaneously and assist in management activities.
- Must have formal training and education in OEM Products.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Prefer (OSHA) standards (Code of Federal Regulations [CFR], Title 29, Maritime)
- Prefer FCC licenses: Radiotelephone general operator License (Elements 1, 3)
- Prefer FCC licenses: Global Maritime Distress Safety System (GMDSS) Operator / Maintainer License with Radar endorsement (Elements 7, 8, 9).
- Prefer a TWIC Card.
Security Requirements:
- Must have an Active DoD Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain one.
Travel Requirements:
- Frequent travel; 25% or less.
- Travel will be outside and within the United States and will include urgent support at other locations worldwide.
- Will be based in Newport News, VA and will travel, periodically, to accomplish repairs.
- Position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Pay Range: $120,000 – $145,000 per year
