Description
Family Ministry: Part-Time, 20 Hours Per Week

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Elementary Coordinator works with the Kids Pastor to lead and execute the Elementary portion of Kids Ministry (1st Grade 5th grade) focusing on the small group experience through the coordination and development of small group environments and is involved in the recruiting, placement, training, shepherding and equipping servants in leading effective groups.
DUTIES
- Partner with the Kids Pastor, Kids Operations Coordinator and Kids Teaching Pastor to communicate the vision for small groups and ensure that the Bent Tree vision, mission, and culture is maintained. Provide insight into the overall elementary ministry success.
- Partner with the Kids Pastor to help identify, recruit, equip, and lead Small Group Leaders.
- Manage Elementary Ministry on Sunday mornings and ensure proper volunteer staffing each week.
- Assimilate all new leaders and coordinate their onboarding process.
- Oversee weekly communication with Elementary Coaches and Small Group Leaders
- Review curriculum and provide insight for developmental appropriateness and our small group leaders ability to implement.
- Work with Special Needs Coordinator to partner with our Buddy Volunteers and knowledge of our kids with special needs who are mainstreamed.
- Develop and maintain a sub list of leaders called MVPs.
- Support all Family Ministry Events
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Works with: Kids Ministry Team, Family Ministry Team, Pastors, Servants, Parents, and Buddies and children.
- Report to: Kids Pastor
Qualifications
ESSENTIALKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and able to learn new apps and programs as needed.
- Advanced knowledge of correct grammar, word usage, spelling, and punctuation.
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written, with a diverse group of people in a variety of situations.
- Demonstrated ability to take projects from ideas to execution, to maintain the big picture and drive the details.
- Experience in coordinating, scheduling and equipping people and tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills able to connect with all ages, kids, students, and adults.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- College Degree preferred
- Education and/or Experience in Kids Ministry, Education, or comparable experience
