Job Description

As a Teacher, you will deliver exceptional instruction and assess student growth. You are dedicated to constant learning and proactively provide academic and cultural support to your school and team.
As a KIPP Texas Public Schools Teacher, your core responsibilities include:
- Develop and instruct the curriculum.
- Shape and contribute to the school’s culture.
- Support the success of each student in the classroom.
- Assess students to evaluate their abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. Prepare and assign lessons, correcting student’s work and monitoring progress.
- Act as facilitator or coach to help students learn and apply important concepts.
- Assist students to understand abstract concepts, solve problems, and develop critical thinking skills.
- Prepare, administer, and correct tests, and record results.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and current records as required by school policies and procedures.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Communicate with students and parents as required in formal and informal settings.
- Interact with families through home visits, participation in parent workshops, and project growth celebrations.
The education level being taught is elementary as specified in the job title for the offered position.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in any field.
- One (1) academic school year (9 ½ months) of related experience as a kindergarten or elementary teacher.
- Experience is required and must include the following:
- Teaching Bridges Math Curriculum;
- Creating and executing Reading,
- Writing and Science lessons;
- Monitoring blended learning using iStation program;
- Creating Guided Reading lessons that target specific reading levels of students; and
- Administering LAS Links evaluation.

The Teacher Career Pathway (TCP) at KIPP Texas celebrates individual teacher impact with students, peers, and the school community, and rewards this impact with up to $15,000 in additional annual compensation.
KIPP Texas Public Schools is a TEA Teacher Incentive Allotment approved district! Eligible and qualifying teachers can earn up to an additional $32,000 a year.
